Gravograph LS800 25 Watt Laser Engraver, Needs Work.
NO RESERVE AUCTION! Gravograph LS800 25 Watt Laser Engraver. Needs Work. The engraver is about 8 years old, was purchased new from Gravograph. Have paperwork. The engraver is in need of servicing, and may cost as much as $3.000 to have refurbished. I spent an hour talking to Gravograph techs, it has not been checked out in person. The engraver has an alignment problem and may need a new CPU board, or it may be a relay, which will not cost as much. The machine turns on, makes 2 clicks, then does not boot up. Also, needs a new hose and filters. The on/off switch will need to be replaced also. It does work, but takes a"certain" touch to engage. I have decided to purchase a new one, as I don't have time to wait for it to be serviced. The service tech advised me to have it fixed, but I have opted to purchase a new, more powerful ... moremachine. IM4 Gravograph engraver. I used this engraver for jewelry. Dog tags, trophies, etc. It worked great until one day it locked up and wouldn't communicate with my computer. Instead of sending it off to Gravograph to have them service it I bought an M20 to replace it. When you plug it in and hit the power switch the red light comes on. The machine never beeps and doesn't go through it's normal start up routine. This is the perfect machine for someone who knows how to repair them and wants to take the time to do it. We are selling an LS-800 Laser Engraving Machine from Gravograph. We provide service and sales of Gravograph machinery and occasionally purchase equipment to refurbish and sell. This machine is being sold as-is and has not been refurbished in order to save you a bunch of cash on this great deal. The machine is in good condition and is lasering with great quality on the entire table. We will be willing to refurbish the laser at an additional cost after the sale is complete. The items on this machine that could use changing now or in the future are: Lens& Mirror Assembly. The current lens and mirrors are visibly worn but are functioning and it does not appear to be affecting the engraving quality. A new lens and mirror should provide even more laser power. Side Fan Assembly. The side fan that cools the laser tube is intact and working; ... morehowever. The protective cover that usually houses the filter is missing. This is not a big deal, but long term continued use would probably warrant obtaining one in order to limit the amount of dust being blown through the machine. Y Axis Ruler. We are not sure what happened to the Y Axis ruler. But we are going to place an alternative one. We contacted Gravograph and they do not have any in stock, but they can be ordered and shipped to you direct if you decide that you need the original. Laser Tube. The current tube is lasering fine and seems to be at a good power even with the current lens and mirror. The laser is firing and engraving the total width and height of the engraving table. However. We believe the laser tube is the original and most tubes last between 5 and 10 years before they start to lose power. You will most likely have to recharge the tube, which typically costs between $2000 and $3000. We can not guarantee how long the current tube will last. Please be aware, that any tube that is over five years old may last for many more years or may last for a few days.
