My dad used it earlier this year on part of his deck but he needs to clear out the garage now so we're selling it. The outer rubber of the cord has a couple split spots- one is patched. Lot of 2 Sanders - Porter Cable 1/2 Sheet Heavy Duty Sander Model 505 Type 2 .
Found these in a storage unit. They both have some condition issues. one is a black& decker detail sander. Unfortunately it is missing the interchangable pieces that attach to the bottom. you can see a piece missing in the photograph. the Heavy Duty Porter cable sander is missing the rubber padding that goes between the sand paper. And the unit itself. by just attaching sandpaper to it. the screws/bolts on the bottom dig into the wood you are sanding. you will need to reattach or find some rubber padding for it. both units still turn on and vibrate great.

I bought this three years ago locally from a good friend who used it very little. I've used it here and there. Mostly in the wooden stand I made to convert it to a benchtop unit. Works great. Very clean. Look at the pictures, and see that I've drilled five holes through the baseplate and through the aluminum(magnesium? base to secure it to my stand. I got a little overzealous with driving one screw and it broke through the baseplate, thus I needed the fifth hole. Does not affect operation at all, and material glides fine right over the holes(they are countersunk, so that helps) You can tell by the scratch pattern on the baseplate this has been used little. Comes with original instruction manual, edge guide, dust collection attachment with original mounting hardware and allen wrenches. The only rubber drum and sanding sleeve I've ... moreever had are on it. I recently bought a stationary oscillating spindle sander, so this one is surplus to my needs. This was polished by hand with Mother's Aluminum polish. A machine polishing/buffing would restore the finish to pristine gloss. porter cable belt sander 3 x 24 made in the USA! Heavy Duty This is a heavy duty made in the USA porter cable tool. I tested it and it works. It has a dial that you can adjust the speed. It goes from 1 to 6 on the dial and in my opinion it didn't seem like there was a 1 to 6 difference in the speed. I could tell that it changed speed a little bit. The sander does run strong. But in my opinion there is just not that much difference in the speed. Also the handle you hold onto in the front is broken. You can still use it, but probably not for something that you really need to bear down on. If you have a handle it looks like an easy fix. Any reasonable offer will be strongly considered.
