BARN FARM VINTAGE DOOR OR GATE HASP LATCH
Old farm estate find. This auction is for a barn door or gate hasp latch. Only what is pictured is included. It normally would have had a U- shaped that would go into the slot on the hasp w and then the rotating"T" hook would drop down to secure it. At the time of finding, the previous owners had just gone primitive and hade made a"U" bracket by bending a large nail. Hey, it worked. The slot is 1 5/8" long and 5/6" wide. The hasp was mounted to the door using one lag bolt in the 1/2" hole at the other end. Hasp is 8" x 1" There is some white paint on the hasp and minor rust but it is fully functional and should last another 100 years. Weight is 3.8oz. All of the carriage bolts and locking nuts thread well and are not crossed. The dimensions of the hasps are as follows: each of the 3 square holes in which the carriage bolts go through are 3/8" square. The base plate is 2-7/16" in length by 2" width and is 3/16" thick. Then add 21/32" of an inch to the length of the plate to make up for the 90 degree bend in the hasp. The height of the 90 degree portion of the hasp where the bend is where the hole is located for the padlocks shackle to go through is 1-1/2" high. Each of the spacer plates are approx, 3/32" thick. Den, etc. this old wooden box makes a great addition to your décor. It is solid wood and ONLY the bottom of the box is plywood. The box was made here in the USA and the manufacturer's seal/logo is printed on the bottom of the box as shown in the pictures. The photos also show you just how clean and well preserved this old box really is. There are NO chips or cracks in the wood anywhere. And the brass hardware(hinges& hasp) ... moreare clean and NOT tarnished. ALL joints are still tight. You will be able to securely store or display anything collectible in the box. And it would make a GREAT container for lures and other fishing paraphernalia if you do sporting collectible shows. Etc. Interesting Little 18th Century C Antique Ornate Door Latch Hasp No Reserve! Description: Interesting Little 18th Century Cast Iron Latch Likely French in original origin. This little latch exhibits great signs of sand cast iron construction dating from the earlier part of the century. The piece was then finished with a series of cross hatched designs. If I'm not mistaken there is an out of print book discussing French, Dutch and Germanic ironware of the 14th-18th centuries, and I believe there is an example to this referenced therein. Latches such as these were used on cupboards and doors. The one end being fastened to an entranceway or side of cupboard, the latch swinging freely to catch a nail opposite to it. Victorian Carved Jade Pendant Dragon Filigree Hasp
This and the other Jade pendant I have listed are from the Lois Moon estate that I bought back in 2000. I kept the best for myself. I hated to part with these but I really don't wear them so I'm finally offering them to you. This is too beautiful for words probably c.1900.I fully expect someone in Asia who can really appreciate the beauty. Symbolism. Gorgeous filagree dragon hasp on both sides and the jade is light on one side and deep on the other. Not large but gorgeous. The jade measures 1" across and the filigree hasp measures 1" as well. It's not marked so I assume it's gold filled and not gold. Jewelry this good at this price doesn't show up often on ebay, take advantage of this great deal while you can.
