Made of steel plates with no concrete. The safe was made by Mosler Standard Safe Co. Inc. A model number of 266948 is written on the round portion of the handle on the outside of door. Nothing indicates the age. All dimensions are Approximate and to my measuring. The outside dimensions are Approx. 34-3/4" high X 23-1/2" wide X 24-3/4" deep and 1-1/2" extra for the hinges. From the floor to the bottom of the safe is 7-3/4" The Door measures 17-3/4" X 23-3/4" The inside dimensions are Approx. Overall 22-5/8" deep X 20-1/2" ... morewide X 26-1/2" high. INSIDE- FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: The Top Shelf measures- 17-1/2" deep X 20-1/2" wide. Left Side Pigeon Hole measures- 3-1/2" wide X 7-1/2" high X 17-1/2" deep. A whole was made in the front by a acetylene torch so a light could be put in while the two holes in the back where made in order to pick the lock. This safe has been used for 40 years and has been inside the house. We DO have the combination along with keys for the inside compartments. As far as we know. the drawers are original. Huge 1980 Mosler Commercial Safe with Keys and Combo WEIGHS A TON
For sale I have a nice Mosler commercial safe. It is very large and roomy inside measuring about 38 1/2 x 38 1/2 x 33 1/2 inches. Inside it contains locking drawers but you could remove them if you needed the extra space. I do have the combination and the keys to the drawers. It is a very heavy duty and high quality safe. Of course it is too big and bulky to ship anywhere so it is being offered for local pickup only. It will be an easy pickup from my garage. Pinky's will tow it anywhere in the city limits for $50 but you will need a pallet jack or forklift to get it unloaded. I could borrow one and get it loaded on the flatbed truck for you to make things easier but if you want me to unload it as well I am going to have to charge a little for my time. Antique Safe - The Mosler Bank Safe Company
This safe is approx. 30" W x 41" H x 29" D An estimated weight is 4000lbs. The company that manufactured this safe was in business from about 1860 to 1880. The time lock case is still attached. But the time lock is not present. The handle to open the safe is included, but is not pictured. We have not serviced this safe. We believe all parts are there, but it would require a full safe service to make sure it is fully functioning if it were to be used as anything other than a display piece. Hi and welcome to my auction. For your bidding consideration is a Mosler Spit-Fire holder and a conical shaped Firestone spark plug. Approximate overall length is 2-11/16" The metal 6 point base measures 7/8" in diameter. Two of the flat sides are marked- one says MOSLER and an unreadable PAT date. The other reads SPITFIRE and(what looks to be) PAT APR 22. 03. The flat bottom has a small hole. There are two cut-out slots below the threads. The threads are smaller than 1/2" The brass 6 point gland/ packing nut measures 13/16" in diameter. I used the term packing nut because there is some type of packing material on the inside. Possibly leather. The top is marked MOSLER and NEW YORK. The conical shaped spark plug is marked FIRESTONE. Has the"F" crest, and made in U.S.A. The tip has threads and a knurled brass round ... morenut. It is my hope that a collector can either use or display this. Bidding is limited to U.S.A. only with local pick-up available. And the distance across the threads seems to be about 3/4 of an inch across. The upper part of the plug seems like a bakelite type of material, and has a brass screw on the top. Here is an old Post Office Mosler safe. 1964. It is 50 3/4H, 31 1/2W, and 28 1/2D. It is EXTREMELY HEAVY! It weights about 1500 lbs so you MUST make arrangements to pick it up. The door does hang down a little(When opened) from being so old but I haven't had the time to do any repairs to it. It does lock and unlock and rolls very easy on a level cement floor since I removed the steel wheels and throughly greased them. It's VERY HEAVY! I am selling this for someone else. So if you have questions I will have to check with them for answers. This is a solid steel antique floor safe-very. Very heavy-on wheels. It measures 5 feet high, 33" wide, and 32" deep. It has two sets of double doors(one very thick) and a combination lock. The owner has the combination and all keys. Inside are a couple individually locking safety deposit boxes. The interior portion is made of beautiful wood in very good condition. The exterior of the safe needs some TLC since it has been in storage for several years. This safe was used in several local businesses around the St. Matthews area. Including a former tire company and dry goods store. When the current owner purchased it, there were receipts and documents inside dating back to the 1920's left by the previous owner. Here is a Vintage Metal Double Door MOSLER Junior Bank Vault Combination Lock Bank with Coin Slot& Alarm. This safe is in very good shape with no dents or scratches. Great for decor or bank! The paint is over 95% intact with very little wear. Both combination dials turn but only the right dials open the safe. It is a two number combination that works well. Has a coin slot on top and an alarm bell that rings when the doors are opened. The alarm needs some work as it doesn't always work when the doors are opened. The dials are in good shape but the right dial's numbers are more worn off than the left dial. Coin slot is 1.25" and will accommodate folded bills and coins. This is a Mosler filing cabinet safe. It was used by the Fed Gov't in D.C. and sold at auction. Model# SF-C5. It has five drawers that are for legal size documents. The drawers are 16" wide, 10" high and 24" deep. The cabinet is 5 feet high, 20" wide and 28" deep. IT WEIGHS 600 POUNDS. No kidding, there's a plate on the base saying so. It has a 3 digit combination, which I do have and will give to the buyer. It can be opened and closed without locking by using the latch and not spinning the dial. Close the doors, turn the latch, turn the dial and it's locked. It's cream color and there are some scratches on it from being moved and some sticker residue from old stickers it had which said"Not for Classified Documents" I bought this to store docs. The last remaining cabinet is all almond color. It looks like the one on the left of the picture. The unit is completely functional. This Mosler 5 drawer legal size safe is a monster and the perfect solution to storing your valuables. Gold, silver, ammo, passport, tax returns, or other important papers. Combination is known and any competent locksmith should be able to change it to your own in under an hour. You can reset the combination yourself if you're mechanically inclined. It's not too difficult and instructions for the S&G lock can be found pretty easily on the net. This particular file safe was built in 1989 and at one time stored classified information for the Army in Maryland. This filing safe works excellent. The dial spins smoothly and the lock acton is just as smooth. All drawers slide out the full distance making access easy, overall this one is in excellent shape. T he government paid over $1600 for this model in 1989 which in todays money would ... moreequal over $4400! If you think that Chinese safe is keeping your valueables secure you'd better watch some videos on youtube! This is made from some heavy guage metal or it wouldn't be 300 pounds and the lock housing is protected with several plates of hardened steel making it nearly impossible to drill in order to scope.
