This auction is for a used Electro Neutronics CD V-700 Model 6b Geiger Counter manufactured in Oakland. Calif. includes strap, headphone, and original manual. In good working condition. The ENI V-700 is a portable. Battery-powered, transistorized survey meter with a regulated power supply using a 6993 stainless steel, halogen quenched Geiger-Mueller tube as the detector. The Geiger-Mueller tube consists of a thin cylindrical shell which is the cathode, a fine wire anode suspended along the longitudinal axis of the shell, and an inert gas into which a small amount of a halogen gas is inserted to act as a quenching agent. The probe consists of a nickel plated brass housing with a Beta window provided with detents which can lock it in either the open or closed position. Ludlum meter assembly for Geiger counter radiation detector 1 MA F.S.
Mid years instruments with serial# 46567 and up this is a 1 M.A. full scale meter older instruments require 50 U.A. meters. This is an later model 1 M.A. full scale meter. Can be used with many models. If you have an earlier instrument that requires a 50 U.A. meter it can be upgraded by changing the value of 2 resistors on the main board to then use a 1 M.A. meter. I do have instructions provided by Ludlum to make the changes in PDF format. The dial can be changed by removing all 10 small flat head screws and removing the bezel than 2 small screws that hold the dial in place than reverse to reassemble. This meter has very good balance I.E. remains on 0 in any position. Universal Atomics CDV-700 Model 4 radiation survey meter (parts only)
This OCD CDV-700 survey meter is being sold for parts only. There is significant rust on the battery compartment and the circuit board is loose. The circuit board attaches directly to the anode and cathode of the scaler as opposed to being attached by wires as in later models of this radiological survey meter. I do not know if this meter would detect radiation or not if the circuit board were to be fastened back and batteries put into the meter. Pay close attention to the pictures because what you see is what you are bidding on. I have put a low opening bid on this meter and will ship it the least expensive way I can to save you money. Ludlum meter assembly for older Geiger counter radiation detector 50 UA F.S.
Early years instruments with serial below# 46567 this is a 50 U.A. full scale meter later instruments require 1 M.A. meters. Salvaged from an early Ludlum model 2 notice the spade head pointer original Simpson movement. If you have an earlier instrument that requires a 50 U.A. meter it can be upgraded by changing the value of 2 resistors on the main board to then use a 1 M.A. meter. The very early all transistor instruments can't be upgraded to 1 M.A. meters. I do have instructions provided by Ludlum to make the changes in PDF format. The dial can be changed by removing all 10 small flat head screws and removing the bezel than 2 small screws that hold the dial in place than reverse to reassemble. Salvaged and restored bezel from a model 2 but can be used with others using a 50 U.A. movement.

Eberline E-120 Geiger counter radiation detector HP-270 probe + extras
Very dependable and slightly customized Eberline E-120 with HP-270 side window probe + new coil cord + Uranium test source + earphone + batteries + free shipping. This was a standby unit I took on many trips with others all over Arizona and Mexico someone either forgot to bring extra batteries or their detector broke down so it was almost always used. I no longer go on prospecting trips especially to Mexico and have many others so it just hasn't been used for several years but recently serviced and calibrated. This is a smaller detector and a lot lighter to carry than most. There have been several modifications such as a handle change out with a nicer feel rubberized metal handle. A 1/8" headphone jack was installed, and rubber pads placed in base to prevent the batteries from falling out if dropped the original clips often cut through ... morethe battery and cause them to short out so I don't use them. Pulse count calibrated on all three decades and verified with a Cs137 test source both probe and instrument together. Included is an older mono ear piece it hangs on ear and doesn't get earwax in it. Included a new coil cord that works with both BNC and MHV fittings. Included natural Uranium sample this one is Autunite and registers at 4.5 mR/hr enough to respond on all decades at near surface contact with open window through plastic container. Included 2 D size batteries that I used for calibrating and operating it they have about 10 hours use and are good and strong. Any 900 volt GM probe can be used although the dial is marked for use with this probe type 1.800 C.P.M. = 1 mR/hr other types may register higher counts and show higher than actual mR/hr readings so it would be best to use the C.P.M. count and convert for accurate mR/hr reading. The side window BETA shield can be opened or closed with one hand as opposed to most others that require both hands. Detects BETA. GAMMA, and X-RAY radiation when used with the included probe.

Worried that uranium prospectors would be wondering around the desert with headphones blocking their ability to hear the warnings of rattlesnakes, Mr. White designed his counters with an integral speaker. He was one of the first. This model is one of the later ones. From 1957. Whites started making Geiger counters in 1954-55. During the time they were in the Geiger counter business it seems that no two were the same. Different colors, different meters, different features. It was if there was no standard but that makes collecting very much fun. During the last fifteen years I have owned more than 20 of these and no two were exactly the same! If you've been following along. You know that we've been selling things from my uncles estate of which comes these 3 items. My uncle was an electronics collector who collected a little bit of everything. He also took meticulous care of his things and these items are no exception. They were found in his attic wrapped up in cloth baby diapers of all things. They were stored away with no batteries in them so the battery box is corrosion free. REAL nice cosmetic condition. They look to have never been used. I am not an electronics expert but I opened the manual, included, and did some reading trying to figure out how to test the Geiger counter. Installed a couple fresh D cell batteries, hooked up the headphones, turned the knob to 10X as the booklet instructed me to do and could hear a rather loud hiss with the needle moving to 0.5 or ... more300. I opened the cover on the wand and waved it across the test area but got no change in the gauge. Later was reading on the net about testing and the article I read stated that the test area was only good for 15 years at which point I went back to the book which said the same thing so I assume the test area is no good. This is as far as I got with the testing. I can tell you that my uncle didn't keep junk around, was a very meticulous, well organized person so I assume these are not junk. They appear as though they have never been used however with my very limited knowledge I cannot say if they work or not. Comes as shown with everything in the pictures of which there are lots below so if on a mobile device, wait until you get to your desk top to see them. Miniature Field Emission X-ray Radiation Geiger Counter Test Source Emitter
This is a neat and extremely small cold cathode X-ray emitting tube. It is only 2 inches long and about 3/8 inch diameter. It has a lead shield that covers about half the tube and a window that is just under 1/4 inch. I powered up the tube with about 25KV and it makes my neutron RAE tester go crazy. It seems like it would be a good physics class demonstration item. If you need this. Here is your chance. Up for auction is an original radiation detector CDV-700 Model 6B. Manufactured by the Victoreen Instrument Company in Cleveland Ohio. Visibly in excellent condition. Bright yellow with the CD insignia on one side and Operational Check Source on the other side. Comes with the hand held probe and headphones. Also included is the 16 page Instruction and Maintenance Manual. This unit was manufactured in 1962 at the height of the cold war. The internals are pristine. No corrosion whatsoever. Also included is the original shoulder strap! This unit hasn't been used since it was calibrated last in November 1997. Batteries(4 D cell) not included. A Baby Ben Westclox alarm clock. Broken and missing a few screws(who isn't, right? I am selling it as a Geiger counter test source. This item has radium on the dials. While the count rate is about 10,500 counts per minute, that's mostly gamma. I used this thing for years as a check source for a gamma scintillation probe. It's pretty safe to keep around. Radiation is undetectable from two feet away. The presence of gamma radiation at a known energy level is really beneficial if you're in need of a safe, mild test source for scintillators. When cranking up the photomultiplier voltage, it is critical to have a source that is juuuuust strong enough to get through your light shielding. I have not removed the glass to get a full spectrum reading, due to risk of breakage. It is the safety factor that inspired me to keep it around ... morefor so many years. Exempt quantities. No protection needed, and a desk ornament/conversation piece. I now have standard test sources, and I keep those in a lead pig. Collectors may be interested in this item as well. HUGE Lot Vtg. Dosimeters Lens Terminals Slides Tons Of Parts & Extras Keleket
Wow what a find. Tons and tons of pocket dosimeters. Lenses, slides, hermetically sealed terminals and many many various parts and extras. I am not the original owner of these but I will attempt to tell you all I can about them however. Admittedly I know very very little of what these are. That said if you are considering a bid and have any questions at all please ask as I am app to overlook something I'm sure. Let me start with overall condition. All of this stuff has been used and shows wear. Most of the lenses appear to be in real good condition some are unused I'm sure by the way they were packed. The Dosimeters show some heavy wear on the outside but I randomly viewed through about 10 of them and they appear to be fine. May need a cleaning I don't know. I can't date this stuff but I can tell you there was one box with ... morethe hermetically sealed terminals that is dated Dec. 1956. The rest of the stuff I really don't know about. While I'm sure you'll find a few broken pieces or items that are unuseful my best guess is that the biggest part of it will be very useful to the right person. I can tell you that there are about 100 pocket dosimeters. For sale is a OCD Item CDV-715 Model 1a geiger counter survey meter made by Landers Frary& Clark New Britain Conn. The serial number on this unit is 23470. Overall in nice clean shape inside and out. A small amount of wear and some scratched the letter R on the top. Best seen in picture# 3. The inside has a sticker showing is was calibrated in Feb of 94 and 98 by the Nebraska Civil Defense Agency. I did put a battery in it and the needle moved, the calibrated knob moved it to zero. Johnson & Associates Geiger Counter/Survey Meter GSM-10S
The Johnson model 10S is identical to the Ludlum model 3 but with 1 less range setting. It has 3 range settings. Adjustable HV, built in audio, external battery access and fast and slow response settings. This one has a meter that goes up to 500 counts per minute so it is capable of measuring 1- 50,000 CPM. Physically it is nearly identical to the Ludlum and this one incorporates the Ludlum 44-7 end window probe. This probe is sensitive to alpha, beta and gamma/ X-ray radiation. Very clean inside and out and working very well. You can see it in the last photo responding to three vintage watch hands(radium paint) sealed under plastic. These are included in the sale. radioactive plate geiger counter check source fiestaware uranium 71,000 CPM!!!
Up for auction is a(sort of disturbingly) radioactive FiestaWare saucer that measures just over six inches. Measurement with a pancake probe(the specs are the same as a 44-9 Victoreen probe) I'm getting readings of over 71,000 counts per minute. I say this item is FiestaWare because it is consistent with other early. Unstamped fiesta-ware plates. This saucer is in great condition. While it is safe to handle, I don't exactly store them under my pillow or sit them on my lap for evening tea. That being said, ALARA is the way to live. These plates really are expensive to ship. And I don't profit from the shipping. They are shipped in sturdy boxes, in bubble wrap with newspaper to immobilize it while shipping. I am not a plate expert. So I have included detailed pictures. What I do know is that early uranium glazed plates are ALWAYS, ... morewithout exception, hotter(more radioactive) than the later plates. It is extremely rare to see a plate with such a high count rate, and I have sold a lot of plates! So. The ridge design and relatively high level of radiation seems to indicate an original saucer from the 1930s, when natural uranium was used in the really beautiful glaze rather than depleted uranium. Again, I am no expert. This is a great Geiger counter check source. Or the perfect specimen for a physics teacher, health physics tech instructors, while this item is safe to handle, it's hard to find a low level a/b/y emitter for paper and foil demonstrations. that is totally exempt from NRC regulations AND is safe to touch with bare hands(I wash mine after handling, regardless. If a collector has a more detailed history. I will gladly post it. Cold War Era Lionel Electronic Labs CDV-700 Model 6b Geiger Counter
This geiger counter has broken end clips. The metal just gave way when I tried to lock the cover back on. The clips are broken on both ends, but otherwise the counter is in excellent shape and works well. Includes headphones. Can't guarantee calibration because I don't know anything about that. But I have tested it and it works well on radioactive things. Will ship by priority mail within the US.
