Eberline E140N with HP210 GM probe
Eberline E-140N serial number 1952 with HP-210AL(Pancake style) Geiger-Mueller(GM) probe and built-in SK-1 speaker. This unit is in good condition and was used sparely last 12 years. This is the industry standard for measuring radiation contamination and will work for you in most any application including personal monitoring after a nuclear event. The meter and probe both have BNC connectors. The SK-1 speaker lets you survey quickly and tell by sound when you pass an elevated radiation area. When you hear the clicks go faster. Slow down and let the meter stabilize to determine the reading. You don't need a speaker to use this meter and probe but it makes surveying more efficient. There is a HP-210 held on by the Probe clip. This probe is a"Pancake Style GM detector and is the industry standard for performing radiation surveys. This ... moreway everyone has the same detection efficiency. You cannot adjust the high voltage on these meters, they will only drive GM probes. CDV-700 Geiger Counter meter movements: 0-50 uA, tested working and guaranteed!
Hi Folks! I’m working my way through the parts stash and am happy to report that I’ve found two more CDV-700 radiation survey meter(Geiger counter) 0-50 uA meter movements. Now you can replace your dead meter and have a spare as well! They were removed from working Lionel CDV-700 6B’s that were being upgraded. They are the exact replacements for the Lionel 6B. ENI, and Victoreen 6, 6A, 6B. The meter movements work. And have been checked by two separate processes to make sure they don’t stick. One reads about 51 uA full scale, the other 48 uA. Spec is 50 uA +/5 uA, so they are both well within specs. The Simpson 260 is not part of the auction. It is used to show the current draw of the meters. These movements are in great shape! Expect scuff marks on the fronts. There are NO stress fractures around the mounting holes on the front of the meters! ... moreThe plastic is clear and not darkened. Remember. This auction is for a trio set of Homer Laughlin Co(HLC) Berry Bowls. Presented in the White Uranium color and the Riviera product line. The bowls get their unique color by using naturally occurring Uranium compounds in the glaze.the result is a mellow white/cream color as well as some residual radio-activity. The bowls can be used as a geiger check source to allow safe checking and operations of a Geiger counter or Scintillator system. Measuring the activity on a calibrated CDV-700 Geiger Counter using a pancake style probe, the total activity was roughly 800-1000 CPM, combined alpha/beta/gamma. The majority of activity is in the form of Beta with a small Alpha component and a very small gamma count. This particular bowl is about average in activity for the cream colored glazes used by HLC. Pancake probes are more sensitive than a standard"Pickle" ... moreor"Hot Dog" style of probe, so your readings could be more or less than the readings I found, depending on the sensitivity of your probe. Ludlum Model 2200 Scaler Rate Meter SCA This is an older model 2200 that has some cosmetic challenges with the paint. Etc. but is in working order. High Voltage was adjusted to ~800V for use with a Ludlum 243 and detector exposure to a Co-60 source for 30 second counts was compared to an Ortec 113 preamp/590A main Amp with the same detector and got virtually identical counts(image#7) although the meter on the 2200 under-read the voltage somewhat. This unit was sent to Ludlum, but the cost to calibrate it seemed too high to justify. I have a PDF of the manual for this particular model and can send. There is no cord for the 115V power supply but the unit runs well on 4 D batteries. The knobs for two of the three potentiometers is missing. Really nice, Clean geiger counter
Up for auction is a used Anton Electronic Labs Inc. Model No. 5 CD V-700 geiger counter with hand held wand. All these geiger counters I have came out of the Geology Department at our small college. I don't know if they work or not. They were put away working, the batteries taken out and I did not test them. So they are sold as is with no warranty. With all that said I really believe they work. As you can tell from the pictures they have been taken care of and have no corrosion. I'm sure I can get them in a medium flat rate USPS box. So shipping should be around $12.35? This auction is for a vintage HLC Fiesta 9.5 inch dish presented in the Radioactive Red color. Made by the Homer Laughlin Company. The dishes get their unique color by using naturally occurring Uranium compounds in the glaze.the result is a bright orange color as well as some residual radio-activity. This dish can be used as a geiger check source to allow safe checking and operations of a Geiger counter or Scintillator system. Measuring the activity on a calibrated CDV-700 Geiger Counter using a pancake style probe, the total activity was roughly 29-30 KCPM, combined alpha/beta/gamma. The majority of activity is in the form of Beta with a small Alpha component and a very small gamma count. This particular dish is about average in activity for FiestaWare items and dishes, which usually read right around 27-29K. Pancake probes are more sensitive ... morethan a standard"Pickle" or"Hot Dog" style of probe, so your readings could be more or less than the readings I found, depending on the sensitivity of your probe. Pickle probes typically are about half as sensitive as a pancake probe and won't detect Alpha. The dish itself is in better than average condition with a below average amount of wear. There are three kiln marks on the back of the dish, as well as glaze imperfections, both of which are considered"factory" issues. There is a small chip on the outer rim, which is shown in a photo. The pictures are from the actual item being auctioned. The dish is free from any other defects that I could see. The front and back of the dish seem to be about equal in activity with the back measuring about 500 CPM higher than the front side. This particular dish is signed on the back with the Fiesta logo.not all items were signed with the company name. This item could have been manufactured in the 30s or 40s.WWII restricted the sale of Uranium and it wasn't available again until the earlier 60s, so the dish/saucer could be 60 years old. As I have no"B" batteries nor have ever heard of them- as such, it is being sold as is. Here is what is said about this RARE item online: The Model F-6 was introduced in 1955. It was a portable Geiger counter with an external probe. It had a large meter and built-in loudspeaker for aural indications. The probe detects both beta and gamma. Probe detects beta without the usual window opening and thus is dust free and easy to decontaminate. It was sensitive from 500-5.000 cpm. It weighs 7.5 lbs. It operates on 900 volts. Eberline RO-7 w/ Four Detector's Radiation Ion Geiger tested Working
Here is a very nice and tested working RO-7 with 4 detectors. Two high range(20 kR/h) A Mid Range(200 R/h) and a Low Range(2 R/h) Three Beta shields also. This was test for response about 10 months ago and batteries removed. Put batteries back in and tested the low range detector, and is still responding. Had to use my compass and an ore sample for response. To replace this set from Ludlum, who has this line now, would be over $8000. Its operating characteristics and specifications are very similar to those of the CD V-715. Except that the 717 has a removable hermetically sealed chamber that can be attached to 25 feet of cable. 2X+ Eberline geiger counter radiation detector for parts or repair
2 Eberline Geiger counters I set aside for a rainy day refurbish that never happened. The E-130G does work and has a new old stock meter but needs some T.L.C. and cleaning there is some sign of battery leakage in the bottom that doesn't seem to have etched also one of the battery holders has a small amount that can be cleaned up no dents or dings but someone tried to touch up the finish on the face panel. The E-120G does work but has a bad open meter movement so it will have to be replaced the base looks clean inside with no dents or dings overall just normal use with scrapes and scratches. The extra base is also for a E-120G or similar instrument it was just set aside for parts there are some small dings in corners and light rust on latches but overall fair condition. Good fix up projects or use parts for others.

US Navy PDR-27FX RADIAC set Geiger counter with case, spare parts, and tools
This is a U.S. Navy PDR-27FX Radiac Set(what the rest of us refer to as a Geiger counter) To my knowledge. This is a complete set with the exception of the shoulder strap, which was unfortunately lost when I let a"friend" borrow the unit 15 years ago. The Geiger counter itself works perfectly on all ranges, although I can't vouch for the calibration since it was last calibrated 31 years ago and the sticker on the calibration cover is torn. This unit will detect alpha, beta, and gamma radiation on the 0-0.5mR/h and 0-5mR/h ranges, and gamma radiation only on the 0-50mR/h and 0-500mR/h ranges. If you should happen to have your own nuclear submarine. You will be pleased to know that this unit bears a bright orange sticker proclaiming that it is approved for use on one. This same sticker also informs us that this unit contains no ... moremercury. This RADIAC set was modified by US Navy personnel on August 4. 1969 to run on 5 standard D-cell batteries. This modification may have been initiated two weeks prior when someone said"If we can land a man on the moon. Surely we can make this thing run off regular batteries. I should point out that my last statement is pure speculation and has no basis in fact. Many units do not have this modification(denoted by the X added to the end of the model number) and instead require original configuration of four 1.345V batteries, one 22.5V battery, and two 67.5V batteries. You don't need to worry about nearly-impossible-to-find batteries with this unit. You can supply this Geiger counter with power from batteries available at any corner drug store. Whether in 1955, 1985, or the foreseeable future. The original contract to produce these was awarded to the Admiral Corp. in 1952. But I'm unsure of the exact date of manufacture on this unit. The crystal is covered with an inner reflective material and lead sheeting for shielding. Description For sale is this vintage Victoreen OCDM CDV-700 No 6 Geiger Counter. Unit has three ranges. X1, X10, and X100. Meter goes from 1-300 CPM/ 0- 0.5 mr/ hr. Considering they made hundreds of thousands of these this one is unusual as the Serial Number is 5300. It must have been one of the first ones made. I don't know if anyone cares or collects these. Device is in good mechanical condition with no damage. Edges have some wear to yellow paint and there are some brown paint splatters which are visible in the pictures. Unit is clean inside. One of the battery terminals is missing some of the silver plating, but battery makes contact fine. I installed batteries(it takes four standard"D" batteries) and using the"check source" on the side I verified it is working properly. Ludlum Geiger counter scintillator probe
This probe came in a lot of university surplus equipment. I cannot read the model# on the Ludlum tag. But someone had used a marker to label it 44-3 and I believe this is accurate. READ CAREFULLY: I tested this probe on a Ludlum Model 3 GM counter against a shielded uranium ore sample and it easily detected gamma radiation(and seems very sensitive) but it has a problem: When moving the probe around, it will often apparently short and peg the meter. Perhaps a wire or component is shorting out against the probe body or a wire is loose. If I moved the probe or shook it lightly it would correct itself and begin performing correctly. If you are an electronics tech or are handy this might be an easy fix. I have not messed with it at all, figuring if I tried to take it apart I might make it worse. I do simple things like soldering and changing GM ... moretubes, but I've never gotten into the guts of a scintillator and figure that's a notch or two above my skill level. There is no guarantee on this and no returns, but I'm starting this auction at a buck with cheap shipping. Good luck!
