I got this item at an estate sale with some other tools. There was no documentation provided but I used the information on the device itself for checking the safety features were in working order as follows: I hung the Mighty Lite from a hook mounted in my basement. Checked the retraction by pulling out a 4-10' length of the lifeline and allowing it to retract itself several times. Checked the braking action by pulling a length of the lifeline out then giving it a sharp pull and it immediately locked the lifeline. I did this test several times a various lengths. The Mighty Lite overall condition looks very good with some scratches here and there I would expect to find on a device of this type. The webbing of the 1" X 3/32" Polyester Webbing lifeline looks very good with no cuts or fraying visible.
