HUGE Complex Double Dial Yale Safe Lock Ely Norris Cannonball Change Keys. I hardly know where to begin when describing this lock. As you probably know these do not often come up for sale. This one is mounted on a wooden display so may have been a factory training aid. Or salesman sample. It is very large and heavy. It stands 12 inches tall, and is supported by a 9 by 9 inch square base. Weight is near 20 pounds. There are chips and nicks in the wooden display, along with some loss of wood. The solid brass and steel lock is complete and working though would benifit greatly from a safe lock service technician who could throughly clean and lube this master piece. These were used on high dollar cannonball bank safes. The lock also has two yale pin tumbler locks incorporated with keys, that allows for changing the combinations. The time lock was made by the famous E. Howard Watch Company. This time-lock timer shows the patent year as 1876 and the piece was produced in approximately 1880! This was the mechanism used to time the automatic locking and unlocking of safes. It is an amazing looking piece to have in your watch or clock cabinet! This a a very heavy time piece. The time lock is such a unique piece and I have not seen any others made by E. Howard. The ‘two movement’ mechanism is housed in a very heavy metal box- very important when it was attached to the inside of a safe door. The thick gauge metal box weighs over 500grams. ... moreThe dimensions are 120mm x 58mm x 35mm. The metal box I believe is nickel and is beautifully damaskeened with box patterning- very old school. As you can see the regulators are also amazingly hand engraved with some very fancy designs. The inside of the box shows two watch/clock mechanisms with two corresponding dials. The winder for each movement is the centre post on each dial. A key was required to wind the movements. However I do not have a key so I cannot determine if the movements fully work. I can tell you that all the balances spin freely and I can hear the mechanism tick away for a short period of time when I do this. This piece is the timer only as the actual locking apparatus is no longer attached. The dials are marked correctly with Made by E.Howard& Co. Who manufactured the time lock for Hall’s Safe& Lock Co. The patent details are also listed as H. Gross’s Patent Feb 8 th 1876. Each dial is 46 hours and also show serial number as 1240. The dials are extremely clean with all of the hand painted numerals still very clear. There are a couple of small hairlines but otherwise these dial

This is a rather old working Yale& Towne 11 jewel mechanical time delay movement. Movements such as this are used in time delay locks for safes and bank vaults. Which foil robberies by preventing the vault door from being opened until a specified amount of time has passed. Typically two or three movements such as this would be installed in a time delay lock to prevent accidental lockout, even if one movement failed the other movements could still unlock the vault door on time. This is an 11 jewel movement and has a high quality fully jeweled lever escapement and balance wheel as shown in the second photo. This auction is for this 1800's 19th century antique floor safe. Yale/Vulcan Safe& Lock Co. The safe is open as you can see and you can set the lock to your own specific numbers. There are two interior locks with there keys which are shown in the pictures as well. Very ornate image of a sailboat on the seas on the front door. I believe that it weighs about 350-400 pounds. Mosler 302 / BP-800 lock, dial and ring. Locksmith, safe man, gun safe
This is a 3 wheel Mosler BP-800/302 combination lock. It is UL listed group 1R. The dial is pretty good shape but does have about 20 rust specks on it. I tried to get a closeup of the worst patch. The dial spindle is 1& 3/8" long after the dial ring allowing up to a 7/8- 1" door thickness. The hand changable pack is set to open on 50. It operates real good and is a very reliable lock. The test mount is NOT INCLUDED with this sale. I have several other combo locks/ change keys listed and will gladly combine shipping charges on all items purchased. Thanks for looking
