It is insulated by 1/4" thick asbestos on all surfaces and is Fire Resistant(not Fire Proof) There are some small rust spots that you can see in the photos but they do not affect anything. Kumahira 120 Hour Time Delay Safe Lock Movement Up for sale is a Kumahira 11 jewel mechanical time delay movement. In good running condition. Movements such as this are used in time delay locks for safes and bank vaults, which foil robberies by preventing the vault door from being opened until a specified amount of time has passed. Typically two or three movements such as this would be installed in a time delay lock to prevent accidental lockout, even if one movement failed the other movements could still unlock the vault door on time. This is an 11 jewel movement and has a high quality fully jeweled lever escapement and balance wheel as shown in the second photo. The balance staff appears to have a shock protector on the top jewel similar to the"Incabloc" shock protection used in many watches. Antique Floor or Wall Safe with Herring& Company Lock and Original Stenciling. This is a very old wall or floor safe that was originally owned by my grandfather and possibly my great grandfather. It has a beautiful stenciling on the front which is original. The inside door has beautiful exposed bolt work as pictured. The interior is lined with wood and has a felt lined wooden drawer with inlaid wood detail and an additional removable inlaid wood shelf with felt lining. This shelf has some damage in one corner(see last photo) The bottom portion of the wooden drawer is rough and has been painted silver. There is a false wood ceiling(i.e. It is not fixed and appears to be removable, however, I haven't figured out how to do this) The lock is a four disk combination lock. I have the combination and the lock turns easily and works. There ... moreis no brand indicated on the safe itself. However, on the interior door, the name Herring& Company, New York is stamped on the ornate brass(or brass-like) box. I believe that this safe was intended to be a wall or cabinet safe as it has no feet/rollers and. With the exception of the door, it has no ornamentation on the exterior sides or top. The side, top and bottom exterior surfaces have a fair amount of wear to the grey paint as pictured in the second to last photo. NOTE: the grey paint may or may not be original. Based on the history of the lock manufacturer and my knowledge of my family history. My best guess is that this safe was manufactured in the 1850 to 1880 timeframe. The approximate measurements are: 12" wide x 12" deep x 16" tall. It is very heavy. Therefore, I am selling this item as local pick up only. Or. With the cylinder set in place on the rubber pad, push down as hard as you need to and while holding the cylinder from turning, while pushing down, turn the knob to start the screw turning, the large knob gives you a greater grip and helps keep the screwdriver tip from riding out of the screw which would round it out. A slow heavy maintained downward pressure while turning till the screw starts to turn will work wonders and you will wonder how you ever got along without this before. If you intend to do lock rekeying you will run into many. Many stuborn screws. If it's just one cylinder for that day it will tick you off. Beautiful antique. A bit rough inside as shown, but a solid top to bottom iron strongbox. Heavy, I estimate about 40 pounds, will ship this by UPS Ground. Measures 17 inches by 13 inches by 14 inches, box measurement, not including handles. I was told this was from a Stagecoach when I found it. Castle like look to this, great original rust and aged outside. One of the top nobs moves and pops up the middle one to show the keyhole. Middle nob has a spring like mechanism to it and just pushes down and holds until side nob is moved. No key and lock mechanism has what is shown in photos. It measures approx. 13 3/4" long x approx. 7" in diameter x approx. 7 1/4" tall and weighs near 15 lbs. As we undertsand it this piece came out of an old General Store in the California Gold Rush Town of Marysville. We were told it was is an Oak PERRY Fire Safe Vault by M H PERRY CO. of East Lansing. Michigan. The inside is cement and it has what appears to be an Oak Veneered Finish on the outside. Both ends and the base are finished with metal. To get inside you would turn the key(screw lock) to release the rod inside holding the cover on. The key is missing but you can simply spin the cap onto the threaded rod. Very reliable SG 6730 lock. UL listed group 2 lock with polished dark chrome spy-proof dial ring that also has a key locking dial. Locks were made in 2011. Will fit a door 2 inches thick. Note the photo showing the thickness measurement. I am reselling this lock because I didn’t measure correctly. Your door thickness must be 2” or less. Combo is set to open on 50. This lock has an integrated re-locker arm. If not needed or in the way on your safe, it can be removed and you can use the relocker arm that came with your safe.
