This Mosler 5 drawer legal size safe is a monster and the perfect solution to storing your valuables. Gold, silver, ammo, passport, tax returns, or other important papers. Combination is known and any competent locksmith should be able to change it to your own in under an hour. You can reset the combination yourself if you're mechanically inclined. It's not too difficult and instructions for the S&G lock can be found pretty easily on the net. This particular file safe was built in 1989 and at one time stored classified information for the Army in Maryland. This filing safe works excellent. This sale will be for the pictured item minus the lock mount. An ILCO 3 wheel mechanical combination lock. It is UL listed for group 2. It will come with the black dial ring and silver dial spindle. The spindle is cut from previous install and will allow up to a 1/2" thick door. The bolt of the lock has 2 tapped holes for attatching additional linkages. It will be sent with a working combo but will not include a combo change key. All needed install hardware will also be included. They were salvaged from the old Seattle Federal Attorney's office during the demolition and reconstruction of the the high rise that housed their offices. Davis Safe & Lock Co. - floor safe
We believe this safe was originally manufactured by the Davis Safe& Lock Company of Portland. Oregon. We have been unable to locate a serial number, model number, manufacturer stamp or other identifying marks aside from what we can decipher on the front. We have made every effort to describe this item as accurately as possible and provide pictures to document condition. This item is being sold as is with no warranty or guarantee of condition or operability. The Yale combination lock on the front does work. And we do have the combination. It has a double door front and a second set of interior double doors as pictured. The left exterior door will occasionally“hang” and require a little effort to open. There is a drill hole thru the right interior double door as seen in the picture. The silver“pegs” that are placed on top of the hinges ... morefor decorative purposes do not screw in and one is missing. There are four wheels. But they are stationary and only roll one direction…side-to-side. The“Cosper Accounting” lettering across the top is not original. The safe has been painted over with black paint in at least one place(can see brush strokes) and then re-lettered in gold with the Cosper Accounting. Lettering under the black paint is showing through in some places when examined in closer detail. Paint is faded. Worn and rubbed off in multiple places on the safe, particularly the front. The interior shelves and cubbies appear to be original. The drawers are functional. But not in the best shape. We do have a key that we believe operates both drawers. The bottom drawer has a gouge in the wood on the left and has had the handle replaced with a screw. The tin or aluminum door is scratched and dented, but functional with a key. The material at the bottom of the safe is of unknown origin or age and is in thread bare condition. This safe is an estimated 29”x 35” excluding the handles. This rolling safe measures to be approximately 20 and 1/2 inches wide across the door and 31 inches tall by 20 inches deep. The front door has a combination lock and when you open that door there is a wooden drawer that opens with a key. The 4th picture shows the name DIEBOLD SAFE& LOCK CO. CANTON.OHIO U.S.A. On top of that drawer is a metal door that needs another key to open up to yet another wooden drawer. We do have both keys, and the correct combination as well. There are cast iron wheels on the bottom which allows for this to be moved freely. The outside could use a fresh coat of black paint to spruce it up but otherwise all this needs is a new owner. Large Antique Floor Safe with Key This antique safe dates from around the mid 1800's. It is constructed of steel and cast iron and filled with concrete. The safe is VERY solid and sturdy. We are estimating the weight is around 1000 to 1200 pounds. On either side of the safe are 11 1/2" wide flip up pull handles. This civil war era safe has a decorative an unusual design with the two recessed panels on each of the sides. Back, top and front of safe door along with the ornate cast iron design around the front of the safe. The sturdy hinges have decorative acorn finials which add to its overall great look. The back side of the safe door features its original pin striping and hand painted floral design. The heavy safe rolls on cast iron castors that are secured to the safe with a scalloped shaped housing. The knob is solid cast brass ... moreand has the number"668" on it. There is a solid brass plate that swings away to reveal the key hole(they appear to have been nickel plated at one time) Safe has a period key that when inserted against a spring loaded lock mechanism and then turned releases the steel bars protruding from the door and it works well. The entire safe has been cleaned and has two coats of clear satin lacquer that highlights its rustic aged patina that took 150 years to acquire.
