Shaped like a fire box, with some mechanicals, transformers, etc. on the red side(labeled"MASTER BOX" and an alarm bell on the white side(labeled"DETECTOR" There's a small badge on the side of one component that reads"THE GAMEWELL CO. NEWTON MASS. Overall dimensions are 17" wide and 18" tall. Condition is good, with wear from age and handling, and unfortunately the(bakelite? backing panel beneath the gamewell box is broken. I don't know exactly what this thing is, but it has a bunch of interesting parts for steampunk projects, or it could even be hung on a wall as a piece of industrial tramp art. Mid 70's Gamewell alarm box
This was taken out of a local high school years ago and has sat in my shop ever since. The only cosmetic issues is paint overspray that was on it when I got it(ironically matching the color of the paint in the school) and a rivet is missing off of the"112" box assignment placard. The mechanism functions perfectly and it includes the key. The warranty expiration date is 1976. So the date of mfg. is approx 1971-1975.

When the lever is pulled down, the gear spins and clicks as it should. Was painted at some point. Condition as shown in pictures. The key seems to be built in, and works fine. Roughly 13"14" tall. Mass Fire Alarm Call Box Cast Iron Fire Pull Station. This is a vintage Gamewell Company Fire Box Pull Station from years gone by. Square house shaped as I call it. It could be left as it is or restored to your liking. There are no cracks in the cast metal. The Paint shows loss, brush marks and it is has dull vintage Patena. It has it's original electrical and mechanical gear still on the inside. It could be displayed lying flat or it has three factory holes on the back side where it could be mounted on whatever you choose. It measures approximately 12 3/4" tall, 7 1/4" wide and 6 1/4" inches deep. On the front it has"Pull Handle" Then Pull Down Lever" Behind ... morethe handle it has"Pull Lever Down To Stop and Then Let Go" Below the handle it has embossed, the Gamewell logo with the words Fire Alarm Station, The Gamewell Co. Antique Gamewell Fire Alarm Box and 1930's Vintage Phone with Cage Light
This antique straight fist fire box was first introduced by the Gamewell Company in the early 1900's. It has been cleaned and restored to near pristine condition. The the original telegraph mechanism inside has been changed out in favor of an antique 1930's vintage phone in non- working condition. The original lock and"Dog Bone" key are included. The Box has a rare Key Guard feature that is missing the glass cover window which is easily replaced. The front door indicates the words"FOR FIRE BREAK GLASS OPEN DOOR PULL HANDLE DOWN ONCE LET GO" A number#62 plate has been added. And white and gold paint used to touch up and highlight front of box. A new Cage Light with red glass globe has been added to the top and can be plugged into a standard wall socket. Do you have a 1916 type Gamewell fire alarm box that you need a internal mechanism for? and are you a serious collector?Well shown here is a"Gardiner" type Non-Interfering fire alarm box mechanism circa 1916. This was considered a dangerous type mechanism because it wouldn't send it's signal when it was in non-interfering mode. If the outer door was opened. The reset pin is then removed from the armature plunger allowing the coils to open preventing the signal to be sent, if another box was pulled at the same time.It's missing the hammer for the tap bell other than that it is in very nice and clean condition. the movement does operate mechanically.
