Early vintage indoor Police call box. In overall solid condition. Complete with bake-lite phone. Phone handle has no chips or cracks and shows years of use. There is phone numbers penciled all over the box where the policeman wrote them for quick reference. The key to the lock is missing and the lock mechanism is missing three screws as pictured, also looks like it is missing a lever or something on the front. Will need to rewired. Very complex, and very heavy(whopping 36 lbs! bronze and thick beveled glass Gamewell fire alarm box/ ticker tape register with latest patent date of Oct 26th, 1909(serial#938285) This was used by the fire department to notify them when an actual fire was taking place in a certain section of a large metroplitan area. A signal was sent in code from a fire box and activated this machine that recorded the location on the tape. Up for auction is a rare find that took me three years to acquire. It is a Gamewell Peerless Fire Alarm Transmitter. It can transmit boxes having up to four digits and do so for one to four rounds. As the ad in the next to last photo says. It has a positive, non-interfering and succession movement and can transmit 24 rounds in one winding. These transmitters were used by central fire alarm offices for re-transmitting box alarms and for transmitting box numbers for the box closest to a fire location reported by telephone. Often these were used to code rooftop air horns. Like Diaphones, volunteer fire departments and Civil Defense warning systems. VINTAGE GAMEWELL FIRE ALARM STATION STREET PULL BOX W/ HOUSING PAT. JAN 1, 1924
Here is a rare vintage Gamewell fire alarm station from the Gamewell Co of Newtown Mass. I didn't do any specific cleaning so you can have it as clean or rugged as you want. It has been painted before but does have spots chipping and worn that could be repainted or left to the aged look. There is a Jan 1. 1924 patent on the pull lever. Glass is still intact. The insides appear to be original mercury glass breakers still containing the liquid mercury. Measurements of the alarm station are 9.25"x6.75" The housing is 10"x7.75"x4" This is a rare Gamewell fire call box Haven't even tried to clean it. I will let you do that! Everything inside an out is original pat.1924 Some spots missing paint but would make an easy restoration. Inside mechanism and back hanging brackets are all there! OLD GAMEWELL FIRE ALARM TELEGRAPH CAST IRON PULL STATION FROM A FACTORY OR MILL
Here is a n old cast iron Gamewell fire alarm telegraph pull station. The former owner told me it was used in a large factory in Pittsburgh. The condition is ok. The front cover is cracked and a large piece is missing. Inside the glass that would cover the brass gears is also missing. Other than that I am not sure what else might be missing, as I do not know much about these pull stations. When you pull the lever, it does not work, so a spring must be missing as well. The gears move easily, though, so it is not frozen, it just doesn't work on its own. It is marked on one of the brass parts inside" THE GAMEWELL F.A.TEL. CO. N.Y. This particular one would have been in a fire station and sometimes in the personal residence of the fire chief or other official. Entire housing measures about 15-1/4" x 9-1/8" x 4-1/4" Part of the cord is still present as pictured. The wood has a great patina with the upper right corner having some wear as pictured. Gamewell fire pull box bullet holes what a piece of Newark history NR vintage
Thanks for looking You are bidding on a very old and worn gamewell fire pull box. This came out of the City of Newark NJ. It was part of a retired Deputy Chiefs Collection. Also the Deputy started as a Civil Defense volunteer during the war years and his original CD helmet will be on sale in a separate auction. Newark Fire Department Could have even been from the Newark riots don't know what you see is what you get. Gamewell box without the front door. The sides both have reflective fire decals. The back has the original mounting bracket which is broke from what I don't know. what I do know is that there is what appears to be two bullet holes through the back of the pull box. What size gun or bullet it is I don't know! Only in Newark NJ LOL. What a piece of history. VINTAGE GAMEWELL COILS AND BELL FOR ANNUNCIATOR BOARD
This is a vintage set of coils and brass bell for a Gamewell annunciator board that you would have found in a dispatch office. The coils appear to be in good condition with just some of the black paper coming off one coil. The brass bell dome is about 4" in diameter. The coils would have been on one side of the board and the bell on the other and the tapper would extend through and strike the bell. Please check out my ebay store for other vintage items.

This is an original Gamewell Police Patrol Box. In original condition with original paint. And original internal graffiti. Both the inner and outer locks work. Included is the keys to open both locks. The front door opens to reveal a telephone. The hand set hanger appears operational and is still sprung. The telephone section too can be swung open to reveal some electric components. The internals look good. If you pull the lever inside next to the phone receiver as was done years ago to signal a emergency. Up for auction is a magnificent and very rare Gamewell Excelsior Fire Box. Circa Late 1800's to 1915, 23. Kept in excellent condition all parts working, just a very nice piece. Notice the door is of the"Fire Alarm Telegraph Company, NY" and not its later inclusion of"Gas" or"Electricity" making this a truly rare find. Its age, condition and rarity make this a an exceptional alarm box, please see the entirety of my photos that I have included for a more exact description. Vintage Cast Aluminum GAMEWELL Fire Alarm Box~New York
This is a great old fire alarm box made in New York by The Gamewell Co. It is a cast aluminum box and is missing the innards and the door key and lock. The pull down door and lever work great. The paint has mostly faded off. Measures about 17" tall. 13" wide, and 5" deep. It is straight and very good used condition.
