Gamewell Latey (Railroad Box) Mechanism
Mechanism for the Gamewell"Latey" style fire alarm box. This type of fire alarm telegraph box was used primarily by the early railroad. This one has a door that is not attached but it does have the patent number plate. Crank, door open switch, and the non-interfering coils. Ask any questions before bidding. Detailed photo Postcard showing operating room of Gamewell Fire Alarm central office recently completed at Dearborn. Michigan. The building is used entirely for housing the fire alarm and police signal central office apparatus. Its design is in keeping with the new Ford Museum buildings. The installation was engineered, manufactured and installed by the Gamewell Company of Newton Upper Falls, Mass. The card was mailed to Mr. Edwin W. Eden. Mayor Highland Park, NJ and it is date stamped from Newton Upper Falls, March 11, 1930.

Up for auction is a Rare Gamewell Co. Clock made by Chelsea Clock Co. The clock is part of a Gamewell Fire Alarm Receiver, the back is marked Chelsea Clock Co. Boston U.S.A. with the serial number 91917 that dates this clock between 1910 and 1914 The clock measures 4.5 inches in diameter and is heavy Brass with screw on bezel with Beveled glass. very vintage gamewell co fire alarm station c.1920s
howdy folks. Gotta juicy one for you, a c. 1920s gamewell co. newton mass. Fire Alarm Station. It's got a patent date mark of Jan. 1 1924. This station measures 17 1/2 inches tall x 12 3/4 inches across and I believe was mounted to a telegraph or phone pole. It is heavy cast iron and I think has whats left of the original red paint. It has the original key chain but no key. It has the original glass piece on the front. The front door pulls down to reveal the pull down for fire switch and it moves down ok. Vintage Gamewell Fire Box Alarm with Finial& Key! Very Nice Display Piece! Good cosmetic condition for it's age! Box alarm does have a few cosmetic imperfections as can be seen in the pictures. Such as scratches, very minor paint loss, imperfection to one sticker. Comes with Key! Comes with All Internal Guts! Alarm is not functioning due to a broken winding coil spring. Replacement coil springs can be found on Ebay occasionally, or simply use it as a display piece, and sell the internals(piece it out) I am not sure, but I almost wonder if it could be possible to just shorten the existing broken coil spring and rewind(re-coil) it, but I am not positive on that? This Box alarm is being sold in the condition described. Item interior seems pretty clean, and door key and lock work properly, as well as the pull down door. Sorry, I have no means of seeing if it works, but as clean as it appears i couldn't see how it would not. The case has 3 panels of beveled glass-one on top and one on each end. The two end panesls do have a crack across the width. You have to look good to see them. Gamewell police call box with key, (New York Police with Wagon Call keyhole)
For all of you collectors of police and fire memorabilia here is a hard to find item from the great state of New York. A Gamewell Police call box in used condition. The number plate matches the interior wheel that identified the corresponding box number when a police officer called in to the police department. You can hear the gears"tick off" One. Two, Seven when you signal a call from this box. There is one key included with this box. I was going to restore it but I have too many projects and this one is nearly complete. As you can see in the photos. This is an early model with a candlestick earpiece(missing) and box-mounted mouthpiece(missing) Other than that I believe it has remained untampered. Vintage Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Umbrella Tapper- Chief's Upright Call Bell
For your consideration is an exceptionally nice Gamewell Umbrella Tapper. This particular example is different than most. As the parts are all nickel-plated brass as opposed to lacquered brass. It is a very high grade desk tapper that is in excellent plus to near mint condition showing only minor wear. The bell is 4 1/2 inches in diameter, and the entire apparatus is mounted to a nice solid oak base that is 9 1/4 inches by 5 inches. The overall height of this Chief's Bell is just under 8 inches to the top of the acorn nut. I have tested this item and it functions 100% correctly. All of the adjustment screws operate smoothly& properly. The bell armature strikes flawlessly when the proper direct current is applied.
