1924 Gamewell Box RESTORATION PIECE This is a 1924 box in need of some TLC. It would make a great piece to be restored and placed in your home! It is in OK shape. The shell isn't cracked, split or dented. Has a newer mechanism(SN: 264528) So it was probably replaced at some point in the box's life. Has the older style gas arrestor lightning bar at the bottom. It is missing the following items: Little fob door which covers the lock Lock(It has the lock screws. However! Bowl(Glass or plastic) The post screws and the posts that hold the mechanism into the shell Important notes about condition: The door spring needs to be replaced. And the post appears to be badly banged up. There is a piece of conduit which is stripped and stuck in the top. The shunt piece for the mechanism isn't pictured but it is included. This is a vintage Fire Alarm Annunciator Box. It was manufactured by the Gamewell Alarm Company. The front door has 10 openings that are numbered 1through 10. The inside mechanism has a light behind each window. These boxes were used in conjuction with the regular Gamewell Fire Alarm Pull Boxes. The 10 windows usually designated a certain floor or area in a multi-story or multi-use building. The box is in used vintage condition with no cracks. There is oxidation and the lock is broken. Up for auction is Antique Gamewell Fire Alarm Box from Miami Beach fire station. The owner was a retired firefighter from Miami Beach fire station. He told me this was the alarm that wakes up the firefighters for a call. He said it was so loud it gave the firefighters heartattacks while they were a sleep. I don't know if he was joking or not. He added a switch and cord to plug in the wall to test the alarm out. Boy it is loud. Measures 12 1/2 wide 19 1/2 tall and 6 inches deep. In great condition. This is the real deal. It is Almost 100% complete. The gong for 1 of the bells is missing as are 2 brass connecting screws. This system is mounted on a 1/18 solid piece of black slate which sits on top of a solid oak frame. A great collectible and conversation piece. 1951 Style Gamewell Street Box
Gamewell street box(non master) 249. Was installed in a Boston area city before the system was removed. Mechanism works perfectly. Fast wind, fast speed. Exterior is in very good shape, with some minor oxidation and signs of the municipal paint job done on the box. Wear and tear for an item of this type and age. Was on the pole from 1970 to 2011. Interior has more oxidation on the shell, and the terminal block is oxidized a little too. Overall this box is in decent shape. Could probably just use a coat of paint or a brush up. Brass tag# 249

I recently came across this nearly mint condition Gamewell Auxiliary Fire Alarm box in a local estate. It is made of heavy cast iron and painted red(a better looking red than my photos can show. I might add – my old digital camera does not do well with rich reds colors) This is the type where a person pulled on the brass ring to activate the alarm, which is spring loaded – and it works GREAT! The little lever on the left hand side of the inside of the window area pulls down to release the front of the housing(and again, it works fine too) There are numbers cast right into the housing: 18971 on the front piece and 18963 on the back piece. Overall height of the box is about 5.5 inches. I understand that all internal components are inside and intact. There is no key provided and the original pole mounting bracket is attached. This is a classic and is becoming harder to find. Here is a nice hard to find Gamewell 1904 Fire Alarm Box. This one has an oak case. And is missing but would have had a brass bell in the front. As can be seen in the photos this piece needs restored. The parts on the inside appear to be mostly there, but again it is missing the bell and the glass is cracked. It would restore well. Gong is in extremely good condition with no major large cracks or extra holes drilled in her. please disregard the shadows from the flash on the camera behind the balls on the wall. balls are in perfect condition.
