It is about 18" long and comes with it's mounting bracket which has a new coat of black paint. It has been polished and lacquered and as you can see in the pictures, it displays very well. The label can be easily read but all of its original black paint is gone. It has 2 very small dings on each side of the label and they can be seen in the pictures. VINTAGE 1920's BRASS 1 QT. FYR-FYTER FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH BRACKET
This is an empty vintage brass fire extinguisher made by the Fyr-Fyter Co. of Dayton. Ohio and it is"The New Super Continuous Stream" model. It is the 1 qt. size and is about 14" long. It comes with it's mounting bracket which has a new coat of black paint. It has a dent on the label by the Fyter word and one on the bottom end. The brass label still retains some of the original paint but some has wore away over the last 80 years. The patent dates on the label range from June, 1916 to Oct. 1924. This has been polished and lacquered and as you can see in the pictures, it displays very well. The T pump handle moves in and out as designed. I will include a color copy of a vintage Fyr-Fyter ad that shows this model of extinguisher mounted to the steering post if a vintage automobile. The ad is not dated but the steering wheel ... morehas the hand throttle and spark advance levers on it so I would guess that it is from the 1920's or 30's. MODEL 95 HD This vintage fire extinguisher is made entirely of brass and includes the original brass metal hanging bracket. It measures 14" tall to the top and nearly 17" tall to the handle on top. The bracket has a metal buckle closure to hold the extinguisher in place. The front of the extinguisher has a metal label in dark purple and brass. This label reads"GENERAL.
