Vintage 1958 Snoopy Peanuts Tennis Wind Up Alarm Clock by Equity
This is a vintage Equity wind up alarm clock featuring Snoopy playing tennis. The ball serves as the second hand and ticks all the way around the clock as the seconds pass. His arm that is holding the tennis racquet is the minute hand, and his other hand is the hour hand. Everything works well. There are no batteries in this clock, so the clock spring and the alarm spring need to be wound if using the alarm. There is no knob where you wind the alarm, but the knob that winds the clock can be unscrewed and screwed onto the alarm screw(or another knob can be screwed on) The clock and alarm wind up by turning them to the left(not to the right like you would wind most other things) and to unscrew the knob, you turn it to the right. Here is a nice. Retro bedside alarm clock for parts or repair. Clock is marked"Westclox Brucewood" and features a mohogany wood case that is in very nice condition-almost flawless. Clock runs, but loses time and makes a rather loud noise which tells me it's in need of a new or serviced motor. Black face is nicely marked and the hands are coated with a lumaniscent material that glows in the dark. But due to age, they don't really glow that much. Sweep second hand is red. Alarm sounds. Cord is original and rather stiff, but not cracked or broken anywhere. Gold colored bezel adds a nice touch to the clock face. Clock is small: 5 1/2 x 4 x 2- perfect for small night table. Rare Vintage Seiko Travel Alarm Clock, Dual Time, Light
Offered is this vintage dual time Japan Seiko travel alarm clock. Another ebayer had it listed for $180. and noted is as being very rare. As to its rarity I have no idea. What I can tell you is this particular clock was owned by a priest who was a navy chaplain and as such it got good use. I installed 2 new 386 bateries and it seems to be keeping time just fine. Also has a working back light when you press the button. Shows two times simultaneously AND reverses those time zones with the press of a button. Great for knowing when to call home. Clock sets in a brown and gold metal base. Base itself shows some wear with slight pitting on one side and some wear spots on the other. Especially at corners and edge. There is also light scratching to top and bottom of case. The clock is approx. 4 1/2 x 2 1/2. Window with 2 times side by side is 2 1/2" ... morelong. The other listing said this was manufactured between 1975- 78. That sounds about right given what else was in Father's donated box of items for our church bazaar. Most all dated back to that time frame. There are serial# number both on inside case and back of clock. 7411-0048 is inside case and 930604 is listed on back of clock along with Japan.
