WJ Double Balanced Mixer type HDM-1, High Dynamic Range mystery part ??
Here is a WJ part that I could not find any data on(do you know what it is? It is a HDM-1 which I was told stood for High Dynamic range Mixer. It was used in an advanced UHF receiver assembly that I have seen. But have no data on. Surface mount type, no doubt costly when new. Definitely experimenters item! If I ever get some free time, i will fixture one up and see what it does! You are getting two at a time! Please see my other items for more RF goodies and weird stuff. Miteq Double Balanced Mixer type M30 2.9-12 GHz Tested w/plot
I have quite a few of these M30 mixers and I know MITEQ builds great stuff. But no spec's were to be had. So I set up and swept one of these to see where it would work. I have seen these in 4, 6, 8 GHz equipment, all with IF's in L band, so that was where I started. I found using a 2 GHz LPF on the IF port, and fixed LO's(LO frequencies of 4,8,10&12 GHz) on the L port, that I could get a composite swept response from 2.9-12 GHz with approximately 6 dB of conversion loss, rising to 10 dB range down at 2.3 GHz. I used 7-10 dBm of LO power, worked fine. IF port response was 1-1400 MHz. IF port is SMA(f) and R& L are SMA(m) however these look like std field replaceable SMA fittings, so no doubt you could swap them around or put on different ones. These are nice mixers and as far as I know, while others have them, I am the ... moreonly one who has swept them out! Unit comes with a copy of my representative plot.
