Which means it has spent most of it's life on a shelf. The CRT is bright and sharp. All the functions work properly. It passes all module calibrations and built-in calibration routines. My re-conditioning includes replacing all the high voltage caps in the power supplies. I check the signal transfer from the RF input to the output of the 3rd Converter and replace any parts that have excessive loss on the RF deck. I check the operational parameters of all the circuit modules and replace any defective components. I disassemble the front panel and replace any defective push button switches and parts on the circuit board. The Tektronix Type 503 is a monolithic oscilloscope introduced in 1960 specializing in X-Y mode but also containing a sweep circuit. It features two identical phase matched amplifiers with true differential inputs. The scope has a bandwidth specification of 450 kHz and sensitivity to 1mV per centimeter. The 503 and 504 were low priced scopes for their time but provided the same quality and precision of their higher handwidth siblings. The standard version 503 utilized a P2 phosphor CRT that provides a slightly longer trace decay time for ease of photographing the display. A large market for the scope was in electronics labs of educational institutions. The differential inputs are useful for entry level students to experiment with observing voltages not referenced to ground. I have this nice Tektronix 503 scope in working condition. Comes with original service manual. 73's Andy Prigge VE3PRI. Hello I received a negative feedback by an individual whom I sent the wrong tubes to. But I sent him another package with the correct ones. Yet he made a claim against me via Ebay and Paypal. This claim was ruled in my favor, but unfortunately the damage is done and the negative feedback is there. I strive to satisfy all customers and if there is any problem with any transaction please let me know. Also due to several lost packages I have taken a loss because there was no tracking information available. I am getting rid of most of my electronic test equipment. Which has been sitting unused for many years. This auction contains my Tektronix TM506 mainframe with FG 504 Function Generator. FG 503 Function Generator, DC 503A Universal Counter/Timer, and a PS 503A Power Supply. Ten years ago. To the best of my knowledge, everything shown was in working order. As far as I can tell today. Everything shown is still in working order with one exception. There is a segment out(see photo# 3) in one of the seven-segment digits on the FG503 function generator. The photos show both function generators running and displaying on a scope and the output of the second is also going to the counter/timer. This equipment is sold as is with no returns.
