This directional coupler is a 50 Ohm input and output RF measuring device for commercial FM transmitters and was removed from a retired Broadcast Electronics FM-30 commercial FM transmitter. This directional coupler monitored the power matching between the Intermediate Power Amplifier and the final amplifier. It's purpose is to indicate the proper RF power matching between these two major RF components. The meter signal output of this unit is designed to drive a 1mADC analog meter movement. The IPA output for this model transmitter could range from as low as 250 Watts to a high over 400 Watts. This would make an excellant portable testing device for RF power transfer matching.
