Antique Curved Glass Oak Curio Cabinet 5.5 Foot Needs Restoration Work, Damaged
For sale is a very old Oak Curio cabinet. This is a restoration piece. Thats why the price is so low. I did have a guy that restores furniture look at it and he told me he could restore it, the straight pane of glass on the left side is broken and needs replaced, he told me thats an easy fix, about a 50 dollar piece of glass. He also told me the shelves on the left are not original and he would either put in glass shelves or go with no shelves at all. The bottom drawer front has came off and needs reattached which he said is also an easy repair. The curved glass piece for the big door on the left is in great condition with no damage. He told me the hardest thing to fix on this piece would be the 2 small doors that attach on the upper right that you can see in pic#10 on the floor. He said fixing those is not the problem, but finding 2 pieces ... moreof curved glass that will work on them is the hard part, so he said he would just leave the doors off if he couldnt find the glass for them. It does have a mirror back and a glass shelf on the upper right which have no damage. Finally he said he would refinish the whole thing instead of trying to touch up the bad spots as this piece is worth the time and effort. He was going to charge me 600 to refinish, fix the glass on the left, and the bottom drawer. He said if we did that he would ask around 2000 for the piece. He said he would charge me 1000 to also put in glass shelves and fix and reatach the 2 smaller doors plus all the other work and said he would ask around 3000 when done if we did all that. If I had the extra money I would have had him fix it all up and keep this for myself as this is a lovely piece of old furniture, but sadly I do not have the extra money lol. This will be an excellent project piece for any fans of old antique furniture. I do have all the keys for the doors and drawers and the original casters are in one of the drawers. INTERESTING SHABTI STYLE FIGURE - LARGE PIECE WITH HYROGLIFICS - DAMAGED
this looks like an interesting piece. I think its in the style of a shabti, but larger than most others ive seen as this measures about 23.5cm high, i would prefer viewing on this as i can be sure on age, it might be something from the grand tour made to copy an original famous shabti, or then it may be an ancient piece, but due to ebay policy on antiquities i will sell this as a copy as i have no documents or finders certificate to prove its originality, although my opinion is that it is a very ancient example, please enlarge all 12 photos and make your own mind up, it has a chunk missing from the back of the head, also if you look closely you can see lines mainly across the middle section, this looks like old damage where it has been broken and fixed back together, this should show across the chest area at the front and down below the waist ... morearea as it goes around the back, also on close inspection just above knee height it also looks to have been broken and repaired as fine line visible in places with nibbles missing. where the chunk is missing on back of his head it looks like a black stone, also his headpiece was probably more pointed but top section missing. someone had glued a small tatty stand to the base as this figure does not stand upright as it would be on a slope, and the small wedge that someone glued on has now come loose and seperated from the figure, but even when it was on it still didnt stand upright so a new stand is needed, they usually display best in one of the metal supports that pot dolls sometimes have. surely a rare and interesting piece worthy of further research. it came with lots more old and unusual items im listing. The left side of the front panel also shows some heat damage(waves and bubbling in plastic) The rear panel and the right panel are alright. Although the plastic casing shows some damage from the heat. None of the interior components(including screen) do not show any heat damage at all. The inside of the machine is in prety good shape but does have some residue(dust, dirt) from use. The machine powers on. Upoon startup the light comes on behind the clear plastic door and the screen powers on. The screen says"software initializing. then"mechanics initializing. The arm then moves back and fiorth and the clear plastic door tries to open. The door does not open. Instead it shakes violently up and down for a few seconds then stops. After this an error message#6-21"visor: visor closing micro switch not detected" I can do no further testing after this point. the touchscreen is in good shape cosmetically and does work. Small Stoneware Crock with damaged lid. Damage to lid is an area that has been chipped but repaired. There is still a small missing piece at the chip that should be visible in the close-up photos of the lid. It was repaired before I bought it. There are no other major defects to either piece. There are some small air bubble marks but that's pretty common with the older stoneware pieces. No markings on either piece to identify the manufacturer. Crock is just under 6" tall and is just over 6" wide without the lid. With the lid. It's just about 7 1/2" tall. I think this is a half gallon crock but it could be a 1 gallon. Canon PowerShot SX230 Digital Camera - DAMAGED
Up for sale is a Canon SX230 that has been dropped. I was taking a picture of that stupid super moon that only comes around every few hundred years and dropped it. Curse you super moon! It still works and takes pictures but as you can see in the photos there are a couple of places that are scratched and the body is separating along the top of the camera.
