Millipore Milligen Biosearch T hermoelectric/P eltier C old P late Model ELSHCH001 For what its worth. Looks identical to a Genomic Solutions cold plate. Probably both re-branded from some other manufacturer. This is a large capacity. ~6"x14" active area cold plate. Not alot of information available about it- but its not very complicated. I would have guessed early 90's vintage from the corporate history of Millipore/Milligen. Found the PC board inside marked with 4.4.89. Might be the date. Might be a secret code. As far as I can tell this works properly and is in good condition. Set to maximum. The plate chills rapidly to about 44-45˚F, then cycles on/off to maintain that temperature. My guess is that it was set this way at the factory and is not supposed to get colder. Other setpoints will give you some higher temperature. ... moreAlthough you'll have to map out the knob response on your own. You biotech/ genomics folks will know if that is sufficient for your work or not. Magnetic stirrer is built into the left side of the plate. Works well and very quiet. Based on how fast it drops down to minimum temp. The TEC unit seems to have plenty of capacity so if you want to hack it to hit a colder temperature it probably wouldnt be too hard. The temperature controller appears to be a very basic on/off relay type system. It might be as easy as changing the potentiometer to hit a colder temp on the plate. Or sticking a resistor in the right place. You could do a retrofit with a more modern TEC control board. There is plenty of space inside the case. And the wiring shouldnt be too mysterious if you're electronically inclined. Unit is heavy. ~40 lbs, and measures about 19"x17" x6" so expect shipping to be expensive. Lot of 6 Thermoelectric Cooler/Heater Peltier Plate Modules Four of these Thermoelectric Peltier Plate Modules were removed from working units and two are NEW. I got these. A couple of years ago, for a project that was completed and now I have no use for them. I do not know what the specs are on these except that they are 12 volt. Just powered up the 4 used ones for a split second to test them. I did not do any test on the new ones, assuming they are OK. 1ea used 30mm x 30mm 3ea used 40mm x 40mm.
