The evidence suggests they would replace bad motors with new motors and then repair the bad motors. If possible, and shelf them for the future. This motor has a tag that says it received new bearings in 2001. Whether it was ever placed in service again after 2001 is unknown. I hooked it up and ran it for 20 minutes and it worked and was reasonably quiet. I did not run it under load.

This is a 1.5 HP 208-230/460 Volt 3 phase motor that I bought about 14 months ago to power my 2x72 inch belt grinder. This motor runs smooth and strong. This motor has a 5/8 inch shaft and is a TEFC(totally enclosed fan cooled) motor which makes it dustproof. It has both a 56C standard base mount and is drilled and tapped for face mount. It can be run on 115 volt power through a VFD(variable frequency drive) or on 220 volt power. I will include a 8 foot 14 gauge power cable with molded plug. The motor runs at 1725 RPM. It weighs 29 lbs. Paypal and personal checks are fine.
