Gallenkamp Magnetic Stirrer Hotplate in good working order. A couple of points to note: the left rotor speed control has been damaged but works as expected. The main On- Off switch was also damaged by the same over exuberant use of a bunsen. The switch is stuck in the on postion. A new switch could be sourced or you could use the mains socket switch. The temperature control is thermostatically controlled and when turned fully to the left is in the off position. The rotor controller works in a similar manner. There is a novel thermostatically controlled"Hot Disk" that appears from the right hand side of the unit as can be seen in the second picture. The hotter the plate gets the further out the disc comes. When the unit cools the disk retracts.
