Very Small Primitive Folk Art Snowman Pillow From Old Vintage Quilt Block
The snow has arrived in parts of Minnesota but my back yard is still snow free! The only snowmen I'm building are fabric ones. This is a very small primitive folk art fabric art snowman pillow. It would look great sitting on a small bench or tiny rocking chair or in a large basket with other primitive finds or tucked under the Christmas tree. Made with a salvaged vintage handquilted log cabin cutter quilt for the background and another quilt for the snowman. This very small pillow celebrates a primitive winter season or Christmas. This pillow measures about 5& 1/2 inches by about 6& 1/2 inches. I cut the snowman out of a vintage cutter quilt and then handsewed it using a very primitive applique blanket stitch onto the background made out of the vintage handquilted log cabin quilt block. I sewed a tattered scarf onto the snowman ... morethat was made out of an old piece of fabric from another old quilt and added a handstitched nose and mouth and eyes and 2 new buttons down his front. I added 4 vintage mother of pearl buttons at the bottom of the snowman for snow sparkle. The quilt piece is soft and distressed with age. You can still see all of the old handquilting across this tiny pillow and across the snowman. The pillow is backed with plain muslin fabric and closed across the back with a primitive cross stitch and lightly stuffed with polyfill. It comes from my smoke free home. I am happy to combine shipping costs for two or more items if you let me know before paying so I can invoice you with the correct amount. I combine and discount shipping charges for more than one item purchased when I can ship them together and I add delivery confirmation even when shipping first class. When several items are purchased. Antique Quilt Block Piece 12" Gold Burgundy White Hand Quilted Perfect 4 Pillow
Here is a very neat quilt block or square that will make a great pillow. It was machine stitched but is quilted by hand. It is a nice"aged" white with sweet little burgundy flowers and a great mustard or gold color. It is approximately 12 1/4" x 12 1/2" which includes only the complete square and not the cut"border" area on the sides. One corner has been lopped off but there is still plenty left to catch in a seam for a pillow or whatever. There are two small stains and one tiny worn spot showing a little white. Antique Quilt Block Piece Blue and White 10" Square Hand Quilted Great 4 Pillow
Here is a pretty quilt block or square in the ever popular blue and white-the white has small red design. The quilt was machine stitched but is hand quilted. It varies from about 10 1/4" to 10 1/2" which includes only the square and not the cut"border" on all sides. One corner has been lopped off but I believe it can still be caught in a seam-you might have to edge your stitching over just a tad. This block is in very good condition with one small stain near the bottom. The fabric is soft and fluffy. Nice and clean and sturdy-no holes. Great for a pillow or some other small project. Antique Vintage Quilt Block Piece 13" Flower Garden 20 Petals Hearts--for Pillow
I am not sure what the name of this quilt pattern is. It looks like a flower with lots of petals(20 of them) and lots of colors. The block size not counting the green border is an ample 13" The border is at least 1 1/2" all the way around-the flower is about 12" The quilt was machine stitched and is very nicely hand quilted-some are almost invisible along the seams of the petals. And a very nice touch-there is a heart stitched in each corner. You have to turn this square over to appreciate the quilting. This would have been a spring/summer quilt because there is no batting between the top and the backing-the colors perfect for spring and summer. It is in very good condition with no stains and no holes. It will make a gorgeous pillow. Wall hanging, centerpiece.wonderful for whatever project you have in mind.
