These parts came off of a 101.28910 lathe. And the large diameter step is 6" and the inside step is 3" with 1/2" belt grooves and a bore of 3/4" with 3 setscrews mounting. The lathe I took this off of was a model 101.28910. From what I can tell. Atlas used the number 3981 on this 12" X 36" bench mount model. As are the dust covers and collars, but the bearings are questionable- This lathe sat in storage from 1990's until now, and when I took it apart I found marks where the roller bearings contacted the dry race on the front bearing(see 3rd photo) The rear bearing appears OK, but I am selling just the spindle, covers, and collars at this price. This is a very nice Craftsman Commercial metal lathe. 12" swing with quickchange gearbox and power cross slide. The commercial model has 1/2" thick bedways as opposed to the regular atlas or craftsman that have 3/8" thick ways. Includes nice original cabinet with belt underdrive and adjustable speeds from 28rpm to 2072rpm. 45 thread feeds from 4tpi to 120tpi. No. 3 MT spindle and no. 2 MT tailstock. Through hole capacity 25/32. All gears look good. Bed ways are good with minor rust spots here and there, compound only has.003-004 backlash, cross slide only has.005- 006 backlash, measured by the dial, not an indicator) tailstock is nice and smooth. This is a nice lathe from early 70's that has seen little use. Would be nice for garage or home shop hobbiest. Included is a NEW OLD STOCK milling attachment, milling draw bar, ... moretaper attachment(has some rust) steady rest, follow rest, three jaw chuck, four jaw chuck, faceplate. Now the bad. I know it needs a belt. And the power cord is cracked up, I'll replace them before auction end. Someone took a torch to the back of the cabinet when replacing the motor. You can see some rust on the cabinet and the lathe from this humid enviroment. I would encourage inspection prior to bidding but I know that is not always possible. I put in the auction pickup only but I will build a wooden box and deliver to a local shipping terminal of buyers choice providing it is not too far away(30 miles or so) This will cost an additional $100.00 Lathe will belong to the buyer once it leaves my hands at shipping terminal.
