The assembly appears to all be original. And in good condition and with most of the original paint. I powerwashed it so you can see the condition in the photos. The main bracket is L8-20 and it has the 2 step pulley for the motor and 4 step pulley to the lathe. This assembly came off a 12" X 36" Craftsman 101.27440 lathe but also works with many lathes. As well as some Atlas lathes. It mounts on the back of the lathe bed foot with a hinge pin. These parts came off of a 101.28910 lathe. And the large diameter step is 6" and the inside step is 3" with 1/2" belt grooves and a bore of 3/4" with 3 setscrews mounting. The lathe I took this off of was a model 101.28910. From what I can tell. Atlas used the number 3981 on this 12" X 36" bench mount model. ATLAS CRAFTSMAN 10/12" LATHE COMPOUND/TOOL SLIDE LARGE DIAL
The 1" diameter Atlas and Craftsman cross feed and compound dials are ridiculously small and have lightly impressed gradations. I had a couple larger dials laying around that looked like they would be an improvement over the originals. These dials are only 1/4" larger but. Have clearer numbers and gradations. I've included a couple of comparison pictures to show the difference. It requires reversing the bearing plate and counter sinking the 1/4" holes to accept the new stainless flat head screws that I will include with the new dial. The bearing plate in the pictures is NOT included but is to show what has to be done to yours.

Included is the Gear Case, part# 10F-11; Shaft, part# 9-68; Gear, part# 9-102-12S; and Gear, part# 9-102-24. There are no chipped teeth, very minimal wear on the gears, the brown in the photos is grease and toning, no rust. This came off a 10" Atlas Lathe Model H-42, but will fit a 10" TH36, TH42, or H36 model Atlas lathes, a 12" Atlas lathe or Atlas/ Craftsman Model 101.07403, 101.27430, 101.27440. Offered is an Atlas/Craftsman Quick Change gearbox for a 12 inch lathe with the rare Clutch Drive output shaft. Three of the gears are damaged. And a few screws, and the clip that holds the output shaft will have to be supplied. In the diagram above. I've circled the included parts in red(the damaged gears will be included for your reference) The damaged gears and the two missing clips are marked in green. The leadscrew bearing, and bracket assemblies are not included. I got this gearbox with a parts lathe I purchased. And was going to keep it, but decided not to. I disassembled the gearbox a while back to find the bad gears and it has been sitting in a box since. I will ship it unassembled, with an electronic copy of the Atlas Gearbox manual e-mailed to you. Atlas 12" Metal Lathe (Converted to PhotoEngraver) Including Stand
This auction is for an Atlas 12" Metal lathe converted to a"PhotoEngraver. There are 2 rotating drums. One has the artwork placed onto it, and the other drum has an electric cutting head which copies the artwork onto large metal plates. The reading head uses a low power 635nm red laser diode. Light reflected from the the artwork is converted to an electric signal with a photodiode. An amplifer converts this signal to 0-30V DC, which is sent to the cutting head which engraves the image onto the metal plates. The last picture shows this setup. Photoengravers were common before laser engravers. You can use this as is. Or convert it back to a metal lathe. Not shown, but I have complete breakdown schematics of all parts. Atlas 10-12' Lathe Table Wood 57" Top& Shelf This listing is for a Atlas 10-12' Lathe Table Wood 57" Top& Shelf. As can be seen in the photos. The top measures about 57" and the shelf is 54" and they are in great condition with 4 holes for mounting to the legs and the top has three holes to mount the lathe on. They are 9" wide and 1 5/8" thick with bevelled edges. I am not sure of the species of hardwood. But it is nice wood, unfinished except for the way oil. there is a round stain on the top of the shelf that would sand out, or just turn the shelf over. This pair came off a 12" X 36" Craftsman 101.27440 lathe with cast iron legs but also works with many lathes.
