I am pleased to offer this antique hand crank sewing machine. A kind ebayer informed me that this is a Ghul& Harbeck. Original Express, Made in Germany. Thanks Mike. The machine is cast iron. The cast iron base measures approximately 12" long, by 7 1/4" wide. Overall height is about 10" tall. It weighs about 11.5 pounds. This is a rather plain machine, with a little ornamentation on the base. Due to it's simplicity, it may have been for industrial use. The condition is about good. I think you could sew with this, if you had a needle. The crank turns smooth as silk. There are several buggered up brass teeth on the gear, but that does not affect the cranking. Singer 1885 New Family Hand Crank Sewing Machine with Case Gold Acanthus Scroll
Singer New Family Sewing Machine This is a beautiful hand crank sewing machine made by the Singer Manufacturing Company. It is a model"New Family" The serial number is 6742822 which dates it to 1885. The design is an attractive acanthus leaf in gold with accents of red. It has a very interesting bobbin winder on it. I have seen similar ones referred to as"level wind" they would distribute the thread more evenly on the bobbin. But this one is different than any I have seen, instead of a"spoon" piece, this one has a thick wire with a loop at the end to hold the thread. The metal on the winder reads"PATENTED" and the rubber wheel reads"Simanco" SIMANCO = SI nger MAN ufacturing CO mpany) I have read that similar bobbin winders were only put on machines produced at the Scotland factory. If that ... moreis correct it is probably because the device was covered under someone else's patent in the U.S. I do think this machine was made in Scotland due to the bell shape of the wooden cover. The hand crank folds out of the way for the cover to fit over it. The swivel latch works but is quite difficult. The wood pieces have expanded and contracted over the years and don't fit as well as they did originally. Inside the case is a cubby with a swivel latch. Inside are three spaces to hold attachments. All that is present now is an old screwdriver. Holes in the base allow this machine to sit on top of a cabinet while the wheel is driven by a treadle belt. I forgot to take a photo of it but the shuttle and a bobbin are present. The hand crank works well and the needle goes up and down smoothly. It has a nice rhythm. Like a train going down the tracks. Condition is very nice. I'd say the decals are at least 85% present. The case has tiny paint spatters. I started working at getting them off just with a damp rag and a fingernail. It cranks easily the spring seems to be good, the oak cabinet is in nice condition. The reproducer seems to work fine but the rubber seal between the tonearm and reproducer is warped. Two screws that hold down the top(wooden) below the turntable are missing. The cabinet doors for the internal horn the doors don't stay closed I don't if they are friction operated or there was a latch of some sort. Please take into consideration this is a close to 100 year old phonograph. 1921-29 Victor Talking Machine ,Portable, crank Phonograph Working!
This is a model VV2 35 Serial 77320. I cranked it up and played a record on it. Audio has obviously come a long way in 80+years but it probably sounds like it did when it was new! It comes with extra needles(maybe 15 or so. I've only seen a few of these and I have never seen one that works. A few collector sites say that serial#s go up to 72000. Up for auction is a male-end crank arm for an antique windup phonograph. This crank has a divot along the horizontal part. But otherwise is in good condition, with the threads, handle and the rest of the metal fully intact. It measures about 4 3/4 inches on the horizontal section by about 2 3/8 inches on the vertical section, with a thread width of about 7/32-inch, so it will work on various portable, suitcase-style phonographs, and possibly some tabletop models. This is an antique. Collectible SINGER hand crank sewing machine model#12. It was manufactured in England between 1888-1898. Very rare violin base, Ottoman Carnation design. Sometimes called Peacock or Orange slice design. This is an antique machine that still sews and is quiet. The wooden dome cover shows its age. For its age the machine has been well taken care of. The thing to remember is that with an item this old/antique it is not in pristine condition; there are some scratches on the cover, some scratches on the machine itself, but nothing that detracts from the overall look, design, or functionality. The machine was tested when first purchased and has been oiled, but was never used an as actual sewing machine- it was a collectible and purchased as such. This is a beautiful Antique 1889 Hand Crank Willcox Gibbs sewing machine. Serial No. A497310 that I have restored. All old paint was removed and repainted with black paint and after new decals where put on it was sprayed with clear to seal and protect the new decals. All parts where cleaned and inspected and found in very good condition. The nickel plated parts are very good condition and where polished. It sews a good stitch and works easy. Felt pads where put on the bottom of the base to protect the table tops. If you are looking for a good Willcox this is one of them. Question welcome. I ship International.

The decals are 98% complete with stylized red flowers and leaves. The hand crank assembly of this machine has a white porcelain handle which folds down when not in use. The handle is not chipped or cracked and rotates freely on its spindle. The machine has shuttle and bobbin and looking fabulous. It is in good working condition. It doesn´t has needle. The machine is mounted in a wooden base with the normal marquetry rulers to the front measuring 11-1/2" x 5-1/4" 29cm x 13.5 cm) Note the recess in the base for the hand wheel. This is a two-spring, two-barrel model, with the speed control arm and the three original bolts needed to attach it to the motor board. This motor is clean and runs smoothly, with no thumps or bumps. It is ready to go right in your phonograph. This motor will work on various console and upright phonographs. Please note the distances between the bolt holes: 4 1/4 inches, 7 inches and 7 3/8 inches.
