Here for auction is a used Sylvania Light Meter(Model DS-2050) that reads out in Footcandles. I have checked the meter in various lighting conditions and found it to read appropriately for low light and high light conditions. I have no way to check its absolute accuracy or calibrate it. But I think it probably works on a pretty simple principle and wou ld suffice for non-critical application. This meter is good mainly for indoor lighting applications. In bright sunlight it will saturate at 2000 FC.the max capability of the meter. It is in fairly good physical shape and comes with a 9v battery installed. This is a really nice piece of workmanship-Industrial Grade-The Weston Foot Candle Meter comes with instructions. I've opened it and it was reactive to the lights in my shop. How perfect it is being it is around 75 years old. The BAKELITE CASE is Amazing. Pretty close to perfect condition except the leather strap shows some age. I Just had to move meter from shop to weigh it and opened the cover the meter responded to day light quite vigorously. I was surprised because I only tested it on my shop florescent lights where it responded but gave low readings which corresponded to chart in the case.
