But it looks like a plastic to me as the weight and feel are different from other bakelite radios) My research tells me it is rather a rare item. There are no chips or cracks in the case. There seems to be a tiny piece of"trim" missing on the front top right side of the grill-just left of the dial-it isn't very noticeable(see pics) The dial, however, is totally warped. The needle moves smoothly behind it though! There is also a little"padding" sticking out under the push buttons. It was stored outside in a waterproof shed, which might have caused the warping. This one does have a new cord, so I imagine that Pop worked on it. However, I can't say if it works or not as I didn't test it. I DO NOT test these radios because I do not have the equipment or knowledge so these tube radios are sold AS IS. Please ask any questions BEFORE you bid. There are leads inside the box that you attach to the scope simply touch them to the pipes in question put the receiver to your ear and listen for the sound of leaking water.
