This item up for auction is a used So-low ultra low commercial laboratory freezer model U85-25. I won this item as part of a lot in an auction. After i got it I plugged it in to test it and the unit itself powered up and the displays worked everything sounded like it was running ok but the freezer did not get cold. It could just need to be charged and if thats the case you are getting an amazing deal because these freezers retail at over $8000.00. Even if it is something more than just needing recharged you are still getting it for over $7000.00 cheaper than if you bought a new one and no repairs would cost that much. I am selling it cheap because i do not have the know how or time to figure out how to recharge it or anything else that might be wrong with it. Revco Laboratory Ultra Low Temperature Freezer | ULT2586-5-D14 Here is a Revco Laboratory Ultra Low Temperature Freezer. This item is in good used condition but does have some issues. For starters you will find scuffs to the paint job. It was used regularly in a lab for a number of years so the scuffs should not be a surprise. There are two gaskets around the door and the innermost one has started to shrink and pull inward. The caulk that is used to seal the inside of the freezer is missing in some spots. The inner cabinet doors have magnets on them that have started to corrode and have left some staining on the stainless steel on the inside. There are also labels left on the sides and other areas where stickers have been removed and some evidence was left behind. We plugged this unit in and left it on for a couple of days. The first thing ... morewe noticed was that it was extremely loud. This is from the radiator portion of the unit vibrating. Someone placed bits of cardboard under the radiator to help dampen the vibrations but it seems to have stopped working. Some of the equipment in the underside of the freezer will need to be restrapped(possibly needs dampening material) to the chassis to quiet the unit down. The unit powers up and works great. We did not have a temperature probe hooked up to the unit so we are not aware of the actual temperature that is one went down to. However we have tested a few of these units in our warehouse and we noticed that this one seemed to be as cold as the VWR feezer that we had reach-86C. We had another one that only went down to-42C and this freezer was much colder. We were able to freeze a 20oz bottle of water in about 15-20 minutes in this unit.
