Forma Scientific Model 8507 ULT -86C Chest Freezer
This is a Forma Scientific ULT-86C ultra low temperature chest freezer. Power is 115VAC 20A. Size exterior is 48w x 30d x 46"h. Interior freezer space capacity is 6.7 cubic feet or 37w x 18d x 16"h. Freezer was working fine at-70C until recently. Suspect problem is the low temperature compressor but not diagnosed by an HVAC person. So not sure. This would be a significant expense to fix. Freezer does work for partial cooling. Temperature controls and alarm features work fine. Interior stainless steel looks very good. Overall condition of the box is good. There is a dent on the handle but this is cosmetic only. The weight of the freezer is approx 400lbs, it can be wheeled freely on casters. VWR 5608 Ultra Low Temperature Freezer Chest 3CF |-86C 115V | Fisher Thermo Here is a used VWR 5608 Ultra Low Temperature Freezer Chest. This unit will get down to-86C. It also runs off of 115V AC Power. This freezer was manufactured in February of 2007. This freezer is in great used condition. We would give it an 8 rating out of 10. Minor scrapes. There is a company label that is peeling away, and some sticker residue from a piece of velcro that we removed. The gasket that goes around the lid is in great shape and does not show any cracks or tears in it. The door hinges are in great shape. The radiator does not have any bent cooling fins and is in great shape. There are pictuers of the corners and seams that don't line up 100% correctly. This unit was used in a local lab. We acquired their low temperature fridges and freezers that were ... moreoperating well but may have and an issue or two. The(undocumented) report from the original owner on this one was that it will run great for a couple of weeks and then shut off. A quick reset will get it running again. We tested this unit in our warehouse. It powers up great and gets down to-86 within 4 hours of turning on. We put a bottle of water in the unit and it was frozen mostly solid within half an hour. The unit ran for 2 days and did not shut off. It appears to be an intermittent problem. We also tested the operator interface and it responded to commands as expected. We also tested the high and low temp alarms and they worked as expected. We are selling this unit on an AS-IS basis because of the reported problem that we were unable to reproduce. We can only grantee that this unit will remain on for a couple of days based on our testing. Shipping will be done via freight. You will pay the shipping costs. Insurance will be required.
