Stig Lindberg Mid-Century Modern Pottery Vase Tall Gr8 Design Look or Nylund
Not exactly sure who made this wonderful very fine mid-century modern tall off-white glazed pottery vase. The inside is glazed similar to other Rorstrand pottery pieces I have seen so I am guessing the maker to be either Gunner Nylund or Stig Lindberg(as you can see the bottom is signed but is extremely hard to read) I believe the piece is definitely Scandinavian. It measures about 9" tall x just over 2 and 3/4" wide. It has a nice tall cylindrical shape. The texture to the glaze is like a soft volcanic but less rough texture. It was executed very well. Again. The bottom is signed with what looks like a signature and some other markings but the glaze is so thick it is hard to read. Any ideas? It is one of his leaf trays hand decorated with blue spines and a turquoise leaf with handle. This has several very minor flaws. There is a small surface nick on the branch. There is also a small bruise to the side rim as shown. The piece never came out and is intact. Under the branch on the back is what looks like a glaze miss. The tip has the same either a nick or a glaze bubble with a fleabite on the side. It sounds like a lot but these are all very small and minor.
