Up for auction is a vintage Telequipment type D53a Dual Channel Oscilloscope. This scope was made around 1969 and has 14 tubes and many transistors. It utilizes plug in modules and an innovative design. I powered this unit up and it produced a display on the screen. But it was fuzzy. I ran the unit for one hour and it seemed to basically work. I'm sure it will need some repair, it looks very easy to work on, the modules just pull out and the manuals are available online. To not ruin collector value I made no effort to clean this unit up other than wiping off the dust from storage. This is a fine old unit and it looks like it has a following among collectors of old oscilloscopes. It is a beast and weighs about 50 lbs. Up for your bidding pleasure is a NavShips 92671 Instruction Book for the AN/USM-38 Oscilloscope circa 1956. The oscilloscope was manufactured by Trad Electronics Corporation out of Asbury Park. New Jersry and provided the instruction booklet to the Department of the Navy, Bureau of Ships with each unit. The instruction manual included such information as proper usage instructions, voltage ranges, a comprehensive parts list, and even electronic schematics for troubleshooting and repair. Considering it's age, I would say the book is in good condition. There are a few pencil marks on the front cover, but I have seen none on the inside. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
