Vintage ca 1920 WESTINGHOUSE Type OB Polyphase WATTHOUR ELECTRICAL METER Antique
An antique circa 1920's Westinghouse Type OB Polyphase Watthour electrical meter. The paper label on the reverse has a number of patent dates the earliest from 1911 the most recent from 1919. The meter measures approximately 5" by 8 3/8 by 8 3/8" deep and weighs a little over 11 lbs. The glass cover is intact and has no chips or cracks or other defects. The meter is in very good cosmetic condition but I have no idea if it's in working order. The paper label on the reverse has chipped edges and is soiled and"Multiply by 200" is hand written on the Westinghouse ID plate. The attached images give an accurate impression of its cosmetic condition. It came out of the attic of an old factory slated for demolition. Vintage Westinghouse Electrical Meter Gauge Type CS Steampunk Glass Metal This is a vintage Westinghouse electrical meter. It is noted as a Type CS. Era is unknown. Consists of a metal base. Metal components, glass cover. Shows wear from heavy use. Including paint splatter on one side of the glass dome, and heavy rust issues on one side. Measures approximately 6 1/2" diameter, 5 1/4" tall. I do not know whether it is still functional, but given its rust issues, I think it's best to assume it is not. This is quite a heavy item. VINTAGE WESTINGHOUSE Type OA ELECTRICAL WATTHOUR METER 15AMP 100 VOLT
Purchased at an estate sale. Was found in their basement. I found it interesting so I picked it up. I do not know anything about Electricity, or Meters, so I do not know if it works. I am selling as a Restore Project or as a collectible. The last patent date on it is 4/8/19& it was evidently made in Newark New Jersey. It states that it is a: TYPE OA WATTHOUR METER 100 AMPS 15 VOLTS SERIAL# 60774528 STYLE 170824F SINGLE PHASE 2 WIRE 60 CYCLES While taking the pictures I noticed a small(probably less than an inch) crack along the base of the glass near the one screw area. It is not visible when you look at the meter. That's why I almost missed seeing it. I jhave also noticed that the glass is a little loose& may need a seal(which may or may not be present now) I assume there was a seal on it originally. I can't tell if one is ... morepresent now or not. I do not want to take it apart to check. PLEASE VIEW THE PICTURES CAREFULLY. consider this part of my description. I try& show any flaws& items from all sides. If you have any additional questions about the appearance please feel free to contact me. On the bottom on the front are the words"LINE LOAD On the back in the center are the#s 47092F this is embedded in the steel. There may have been a label over this# It looks like there is an outline of a square 3 1/2" W x 3" H. The back also looks like it may have been repainted at sometime. But I can't tell for sure. Vintage 1937 Westinghouse House Electrical Meter Type CA
Cool old Westinghouse electric meter. Would have been used to keep track of how much electricity was being used by a house. There is what I believe to be a date on the label of 9-10-37. There is old paint build up on the base. But the meter and glass appear to be in excellent condition. This would be a great decoration in a room in the industrial style. Or it could be used in a cool industrial style sculpture. Or, take it apart for all the great gears and parts. Has a hanger on the back for easy mounting on a wall. Measures about 7 1/2" tall, 5" deep, and 5 1/2" across. Don't come across these very often!

This old Westinghouse meter is one of a kind and even though it needs cleaning up it makes a wonderful display piece.dates on it are 1917. Still has the paper tag for marking id and the printed phone number of the company. PGE, of ATwater 7181. Type OA. 100-200 Volts. Kilowatt Hours, 15 Amperes, 3 wire and of course paint spatters. Weighs a ton but fits in a flat rate. Give it a home and make a stunning lamp. International bidders be careful it is heavy.
