Antique Iron Cowboy Cattle Dehorning Tool ~ Vtg Old Primitive Farm Ranch Decor
Up for bids at auction: Up for bids is this antique iron cattle dehorning tool. This old set of dehorners was a barn find from an old farm estate in Iowa and is in great condition. They would have been used by spreading the handles. Which opens the guillotine style blade, sliding it over the horn of a cow, then pulling the handles together to lop the horn off, the same step would need to be repeated for the other horn; all easier said than done. They measure just short of 31 inches long. Are roughly 7 ½ inches wide at the head and range in thickness from ¾ to 1 ½ inches thick. The blade has a couple of nicks in it from usage that could be sharpened out if you wanted to use it. Overall.
