This Clamp/Vise/Press was purchased as I thought it was a boat prop bearing press. As it was covered in what appeared to be salt/water deposits. I intended to hang it on my wall, but after a little research, I learned that Luxene Inc. was an old dental equipment company that was in business during the early 50s. What I thought were salt/water deposits. I now believe to be amalgam, molding material and such. Markings: Lexene Inc. New York. NY" and I believe the bottom right leg reads" No. 3" Frame appears to be made of solid bronze and the screw and handle appear to be made of metal. The press point of the screw appears to be capped with another piece of Bronze.
