Applied Instruments Super Buddy Digital Satellite Meter
I am selling my old Super Buddy Signal Meter. To begin of course this is the original Super Buddy. It will not natively support the new DirecTV SWM LNBs, however I believe they still make the SWiM Kick modules that will take care of that. I bought this meter new about 5 years ago, and then stopped doing DirecTV installs for a few years so the meter sat around, it was barely used. I went to power it up last year and it didn't. So I sent it off to Applied Instruments to give it a once over and replace the battery. They checked it out, upgraded the software, and replaced the battery with a new Lithium Ion battery(only real battery for any type of meter) and it is now in perfect condition and ready to get out and work. I will include the invoice for the work completed a little over a year ago. Of course after I had it repaired it went back ... morein the closet and sat again. Spring cleaning is the main reason for it ending up here. The meter held the charge and powers up fine again after sitting for a year(Lithium Ion, gotta love it) As you can see from the pictures, the screen and buttons are in pristine condition, the cover is flawless and the tag on the back is even legible. This meter truly was only used a few times in the last 5 years or so and was not abused at all in that time. The meter will come with all charging cables, I do not however have the rs232 cable for connecting to a PC, since I never actually did that anyway. Again, a perfectly capable meter for any installs short of Exede or HughesNet Gen4, if you are installing DirecTV you just need a kick module or like my friend does and just uses a 4 port LNB with his meter. The yellow EV scale shifts between Low and Hight illuminations values using the same rocker switch that activates the meter function. Gossen Digiflash Ambient Flash Smallest Meter Digital 6 Handy Modes Mint Xtras
This is the smallest combination ambient and flash meter made. Being about 2.5" long x 1.8" wide(at the widest point) and 0.9" thick, and weighing 40 grams(1.4 oz with battery) I got it after I sold my big meter, but find that I really don't use it any more than my big one. Rather than discuss how it works and the 6 different modes(including temperature and time) you can find reviews and details online. By the way. There is now a Digiflash 2, which seems to be the same meter in a different colored case with slightly different match ring markings. This meter has not had a lot of use and is in mint condition. It includes everything it came with(box. Case, neck strap, and instructions) and I added 2 really handy extras. The first is 4 small clear plastic half round"bumpers" around the mode button. They are basically ... moredesigned to use with small furniture and are easily removed. They prevent the mode button from being changed when the meter is in it's case and in your camera bag or pocket. It kept happening to me, and once it is changed it takes quite a bit to cycle it back(only going forward) to where it started. Once I put the"bumpers" on it never happened again. The second extra is a table of 1/3 stop readings for both aperture and shutter speed on the back. The match ring indicators on the front are only in full stops with white dots at the 1/3 stop spots. I originally bought this PENTAX spot meter to use with my Bronica medium format kit but it has not seen any use at all. From what you can see in the pictures. It is in very good condition, no scratches or dents, lens is clear and it includes its leather case, manual, lens cap, battery(the spot meter works perfectly) and box. It can be used by either film or digital photographers. Accurate to 1 degree EV readings through the viewfinder. I will also be selling my medium format kit. Watch my other listing as well.
