Lab Power Supply or RC 12V 14A Supply - Converted from a PC Power Supply
This auction is for a converted PC power supply that I've made into a useful lab power supply. It also serves as a useful 12V source for RC chargers. As such. I've made all the power connections banana connectors for flawless use with most chargers. I've installed preload resistors in this power supply so it can operate safely with no load or little load indefinitely. This supply can provide 12V at 14A, 12V at 0.8A, 5V at 25A and 3.3V at 18A. You can generally use any combination of voltages to make others, for example use the 12V and-12V to make 24V. One note on that, most PC power supplies do not tolerate using 5V and 3.3V in the same circuit like the others and it may kick in the short circuit protection. When applying a load to this power supply if the load is too high when you plug the connector in the power supply will trigger ... moreit's surge protection and shut down. The best method of applying large loads is to plug the load in to the supply with the supply off then turn it on. Because this unit is used I make no warranty other than that it will not be DOA. I did a quick check& can't guarantee everything works. I bought this at an estate sale& was told the owner loved using it. The power supply will output 0-40 vac& 5-40 vdc. The RF/AF generator will output square or sine waves. The AF gen. has 4 range buttons of x1 hz. X10 hz, x100 hz& x1khz. The AF dial is 20-200. The RF gen. has 3 band range buttons of 1.6-4.8Mhz, 5-1.6Mhz& 200-500Khz. The dial matches the range buttons. It comes w/ several test lead& jumpers. I don't have any manuals or instructions. I am selling this Xantrex DC bench power supply. Model is XFR 100-12 has an adjustable output from 0-100 volts and from 0-12 amps. The unit is in good shape and is in good working order. I tested it using some 100 watt light bulbs as a load and connected an external multimeter. The meters on the power supply seem to be accurate. Real nice powersupply in a compact 1U format.
