I was looking around the other day and realized I had way too many large format lenses. Some of which I have hardly used. It is time to cull the herd and you should be able to find a good deal with this batch. This is a nice example of the Schneider-Kreuznach 270mm Tele-Arton. The glass has some dust between the elements and there are a few cleaning marks. None of this should effect the image. The shutter is compur/copal size 1. It sounds pretty accurate. But the very low end does drag a bit-1 second sound a little long, maybe a second and a quarter? The high speeds sound good. The lens comes with front and rear caps amd the retaining ring. No two clocks are the same. That being so then this would be a rarity in itself. Just think of the hours of work involved. Now some detail. Stamped on the rear of the clock works are: GM 1884288. A25-83(this I believe to be the date of this particular clock) Made in West Germany, Regula(movement) No Jewels unadjusted, A.Schneider Sohne. Sorry but my camera is not too hot on close ups. On the inside of the removable back panel there is a stamp with the name of Stephan Krenkle 774S Furtwangen(probably ... morethe original German retailer) other info. Some I cannot read. Approximate size is: From top of Antler to bottom of clock 46cms. Widest 30cms. Depth 17cms. This clock is in good working condition but would probably need adjustment after transport. I have had it hanging for a couple of days and it seems to be O.K. with music. Cuckoo, chime working. Also has a night shut off lever. It will be very well packed for posting. This is a Schneider-Kreuznach 150mm enlarging lens for 4x5" negatives. The aperture setting ring turns easily with soft clicks at each 1/2 f-stop. With 1/2-stop markings on the scale. The glass is clean& clear. No scratches, fogging or fungus. The rear element has two tiny marks(less than 1/2mm each) in the anti-reflective coating. When inspecting the front element, on first glance, it appears that there is dust or debris on the inside barrel of the lens, but I believe it is actually small air bubbles in the cement used to mount the element in place(on the outer circumference) well outside the image-forming area of the element. Imposing 13+" Art Deco smoked glass bowl with geometric textured relief design by FAINS. Sim Schneider This is a massive bowl from the 1920s or 1930s in high art deco style. It is very similar to the acid-etched designs produced by Schneider/le Verre Français at the time. But was actually made by the Fains glassworks(1864-1978) Lorraine. It is made of heavy smoke-coloured glass with a geometric motif in a bark texture and has a ribbed foot. Also decorated with a textured band. Please scroll down for more photos. Huge Art Deco Mottled Schneider Style Art Glass Center Bowl
Huge Art Deco Schneider Style Center Bowl. This is a beautiful hand blown art glass center bowl. It has the look and quality of French Schneider art glass. But is not signed. It is quite large at 14 1/4 diameter and stands 4 1/2" tall. Excellent condition. No chips or dings. Polished pontil on base and someone has applied felt pads to bottom. I have shown several photos with different lighting. The colors are mottled pink to reddish orange with green. Bowl is quite heavy weighting 6.6 pds and is much prettier than photos show. This could also be early Monart Moncrieff Glass, Scottland which would explain the similarity to Schneider French Glass as Salvador Ysart(creator of Monart at Moncrieff Glassworks(1924-1961) worked at many French glass companies including Schneider prior to WWI.
