Rare Durant Manufacturing Co.'s Productimeter Photoelectric Counter in Working C
This is how photo finish worked in the beginning. A light unit was pointed at a lens on the opposite side of the finish line that contained a detection bulb. When the beam of light would get interrupted by someone crossing the line info would be sent to a unit that would record it. This specific set was most likely used in a store to count and/or announce shoppers. It is supposed to have the light unit. The detection unit and the counter. Unfortunately, this piece does not come with a counter. However, counters are abundant on the market and can be purchased for a decent price. It is these two pieces that are rare. The light source measures 4x2x4 inches and it does not have it original plug. But is directly connected to the detection unit through the plug openings. The cable that connects it to the main unit is very thin and has a half inch ... moreelectrical tape patch. As it can be seen in the photos, the light source works perfectly. Neat vintage industrial counter. The Productimeter by Durant Manufacturing. This particular counter was from the Columbia Gas(Crawford Station) in Sugar Grove. Ohio and was part of their snow engine set up. We have the information card that was given to us with the Productimeter. There is no key on the side though I don't know if this needed one.
