I was recently contacted by an Ebayer from Germany who told me this pair of Piano Babies bears the makers mark of Carl Schneider. These were made in Germany in the mid to late 1800's. Two of the leading manufacturers were Gebruder Heubach and Carl Schneider. These are in what I would call Very Good Condition for their age. They measure approx. 5& 5 ½’ High. The SCHNEIDER Company was founded in 1904 by F Anton Schneider& Johann Geier- In 1929 Josef Lenhart purchased the factory- I understand that the trademark on the bottom. The crown with JSL under it is from 1929 until 1949 when the factory was closed. The last year that items were manufactured was 1945. On the bottom of all pieces it says Made in Czechoslovakia and has the JSL and Crown Trademark. All the pieces are in very good condition. The set appears to have been used very little if at all. No cracks or crazing. The lid had one very tiny chip on the underside of the lip inside of the lid. Not ... morenoticeable you would have to feel for it. Brick/stone style etching at the bottom. Condition of the vase/etching is very good with typical age wear/scuffing. There are no chips or cracks to the vase as it is displayed. Vase is impressive standing 12" tall with a base diameter of 4" and a top diameter of 2 1/8" There is a drill hole to the bottom. This was either supposed to be a lamp base, or going to be made into a lamp base. There are 2 stress cracks at the hole, please see the photos. Absolutely stunning and guaranteed authentic. This is a very nice piece of German porcelain made by Unger Schneider in the late 19th century. C. 1880. It features a young man reclining on a chair. The colors a quiet lovely, pinks, greens and golds. There is some slight wear to the gilding, especially to the tips of his shoes. There is no damage. The piece is well marked. It stands 5 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches deep.

Vintage Schneider France 15" Bowl or Comport w/ Majorelle Wrought Iron Stand! NR
This vintage Schneider bowl or comport is from a local estate. The bowl is orange in color with dark orange streaks with a satin finish. The bowl alone measures 15 5/8" across and is 4 1/8" tall. This bowl has a rolled rim. The side is marked. Schneider France in gold paint. This piece has a wrought iron stand. We believe it to be Majorelle but are not sure as we are not familar with the company's work. The stand is unsigned. The stand measures 15 1/2" wide and stands 7 1/2" tall. There are gold highlights on the ends of the leaves. CONDITION: As you can see in pic. This beautiful piece is in Very Good Condition! There are no chips or cracks. There are a few air bubbles in the glass and there are faint small circles in the bottom of the bowl, this may or may not be part of the design.
