Here is an old Miehle Vertical printer. I don't know very much about this machine, it has a three phase motor 220/440 3hp. The serial number is V-18926. It is being sold as is! Letterpress Poster Press - Morgan Line-O-Scribe Model 1422
This is a Morgan Line-O-Scribe Sign Machine. Aka Poster Press. It has a type area of 14×22 inches. The press comes with a cabinet consisting of four parts: two type cabinets each holding 12 type drawers and 2 larger drawers, a bench and hood supported by the type cabinets, and a sliding rack that can support cases of type or other materials. The type drawers have movable dividers to accommodate any size type. No type is included. An assortment of steel furniture(spacing material) is included. The hood contains a fluorescent light. This machine could be used as a proof press. It could also be used. Rather tediously, for very low-volume letterpress production. I have even used it to print an engraving. Unfortunately, the pressure of the impression roller caused the copper engraving plate to curve upward; perhaps a plate that was securely ... moremounted to a wood block would not do that. The ink and impression rollers are in good shape. The ink rollers are intended for single-color printing. But using hand rollers you could apply different inks to different areas of the form and print more than one color in a pass. Disclosure: The sliding rack is meant to roll out over the press. But three of its four wheels are missing. Other than that, this machine is in good working condition. Dimensions are shown on one of the pictures. Weight is unknown. But the separate pieces can be moved fairly easily by two people(or with some difficulty by one)

It has scuffs and scratches from normal use. Notes: This item was not fully tested. Since we do not have the proper resources. When we purchased this item it had a bad computer module. We bought a New computer module, and installed it. When power was applied it booted up to the main menu. Since the module was replaced we started to enter the four Service Codes. The first code,97, X, Y, and Z were seen as they were manually moved in a positive direction. The second code, 11, feed back, the X axis was out of spec. The readings should be less than 4-5 ... morethousandths of an inch and X was at 0.0130 inches. We cleaned and adjusted the sensor on the table and re-ran code 11 but it still read approximately 0.0100, which is still too high. This could be due to a number of things or the fact that is was sitting on a wood pallet. We took a picture of the displays of codes 11 and 12, so please reference these for information. We did not continue with the last code, 123, since we do not have the tools or experience to perform it(begin/end standard) The quill spun with no problems and we could easily raise/lower the knee No further testing was performed. Up for bids is this vintage Craftsmen letterpress. It was recently found in an estate sale just as you see it. It appears to be in good condition. It would be really nice looking all painted up or used as is. The rollers are soft but they might need replacing. The chase measures 8" X 11" so I am guessing this to be an 8 X 10? We are selling our Chandler& Price Pilot Press. This press is unrestored. But is in full working order with all original parts(with the exception of 1 spring and the feed board) We have owned the press for 8 years and printed some projects on it, but our volume and sizes requirements forced us to work commercial letterpress printers instead. Since then it has safely sat unused in our studio. When we bought the press from a shop that had closed. We had it refurbished to perfect working condition by a Pilot expert in his shop. Other than some dust, its condition is unchanged from then. There are no cracks and no missing parts-with the exception of rollers. These were misplaced in a move, but new ones can be bought from NA graphics for about $100 each. All adjustable parts move as they should(impression screws nuts, tympan bales, and grippers) ... moreIt could use some cleaning and some oiling, but otherwise it doesn't need any further restoration to print capably for a long time. We're also including all the extra parts and tools pictured below. Other than rollers and whatever plates you'll be printing with.
