VINTAGE HAMILTON WOODEN PRINTER'S TYPE DRAWER TRAY This is a neat old printer's type drawer. It has multi-shaped compartments. I have included a photo of a manufacturer's mark that is stamped in the tray. It is The Hamilton Mfg Co Two Rivers. Wis. Also stamped in the tray is New Departure Patented. The tray has a steel handle stamped HAMILTON and a cutout slot that identifies what font of type the drawer held. The drawer is very nice condition with a wood back. I have not done any cleaning on the drawer. I am listing three of these identical drawers. They are all in similar condition. Measures approximately 82.5cm x 36cm x 3.5cm deep(32.5" x 14" x 1.5" The tray is divided into three sections. Each having various sized compartments. There are 95 compartments in total with brass detailing at each compartment intersection(see photos) Even the original paper lining in the compartments is still in tact. It also has the original metal handle and label holder. I have polished it up to give the wood a nice all over finish. I t is extremely sturdy and well made with no sign of damages or cracks. The 2 3/4" lure had a wire leader with a small top spinner. A feather tail, and was introduced circa 1927. The copper faced cut is 2 1/16" wide by 5/8" tall by 1/16" thick. This is a used hamilton printers tray/ drawer. Drawer is complete and in good shape. There are 2 stamps on the top of one of the rails. Did my best to picture them. Included are ~250 fraction stamps(1/4 1/3, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 2/3, 3/4, 7/8" in various sizes(3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 1" 93 3/8" blocks, 85 1/2" blocks, 24 5/8"blocks, 21 3/4" blocks, 17 1" blocks. Large. Distinctive printers type case by the Hamilton Manufacturing Company! Triangular in shape, standing 32 inches tall, 9 3/4 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches deep. Has a gorgeous deep, inky patina(and some dust! and enough wear to the edges to show that it was definitely used, but no structural damage, cracks, or missing dividers. The best part about this piece is the retention of its original label! There are numbers across the top and down the side of the entire tray, and a metal label on the base with even a serial number: 3728-35, that itself is a lovely piece of vintage typeface! To give you an idea of what the print will look like, a print will actually look a lot sharper and better than this, but it's hard to do a very good job without the proper ink pad or a press. Some folks can pull it off, but I'm not always as crafty as I would like to be. The actual printing area is lead. Tacked onto a wooden block with tiny nails. Vintage Letterpress Metal Type 14 Point Cooper Black (?) Font
Vintage letterpress metal(lead) type. I've had this font for years but never had the letterpress to use it with! The height is almost exactly 3/16" Which works out to 14 point, I beleive. The font is not labeled but appears similar to Cooper Black. Weight of the font is about 12 pounds. Each set of letters will be individually bagged and shipped in a Medium Size flat rate box. An antique lever-style table top cast iron BALTIMORE printing press. It is marked"Baltimore" in cast letters on the frame. I believe this is a Baltimore model number 11(this model was designed for two ink rollers) Top ink plate is missing. No ink rollers. Measures approximately 14" long x 6.5" wide x 9" high(when open) The platen measures approximately 3 x 5" The inside chase measures approximately 4" x 2 3/8' Made of cast iron. Black with gold-colour painted accents. Printing press has significant paint chipping and wear to painted areas. Surface rust on unpainted metal. See photos for details. It moves properly when the handle is lifted. Weighs about 11 or 12 lbs. Mounted on a wood base. Could use a cleaning and some lubrication. This auction is for a vintage antique Letterpress Printers Tray/ Drawer. It measures approximately 32” x 16” and has 89 various size spaces. There is a Green metal face plate across the front of the drawer with a silver pull marked“ Hamilton” There is some writing on the green piece of metal. Someone has already attached a wire to the back for hanging so it can be used as a shadowbox to display your collectibles. One of the pieces just needs a touch of glue as it is loose.
