I pulled this unit off about 18 months ago and it hasn't been used since. The rollers were opened when unit was pulled. I ran this unit until the press broke down and never replaced the press.I no longer need this Unit and need to sell it. The hard rubber roller had a score in it when I got the press 6 years ago however I ran it for about 4 1/2 years until press broke down. I tore this unit off my 360 which I am moving out. The Kompac unit could use either new rollers or the ones in it reconditioned. It definitely needs a new slip gear on the one roller to keep it from moving in both directions. It ran 8.5X11 great but 11X17 the edges ran too wet. That's why I recommend doing something with the rollers. This Kompac II automatic dampening system with Kolormate was still working fine when we removed from press. Junking press) Rollers are in good condition. Several cleaning seals go with it. It was mounted on a Chief 17 but I guess could be used on other presses with the right mounting hardware. To the best of my knowledge all the hardware to mount to a Chief 17 is included. I tried to tape most of the screws to the pieces they went with so as to make remounting easier. The cover has been altered as you can see from the photos. So cover is not in original condition.

Kompac 1819-2 for Multi 1870, 1862, 1962 and 4620 second color head
You are bidding on a used(refurbished) Kompac 1819-2 water unit. This unit is for the second color head on any 1850 size Multi including the 1870. 1862, 1962 and 4620. I think it could be made to fit the first color head also but might require some extra mounting hardware from Kompac or another Kompac unit. This Kompac has a new top cover, new metering roller, new seals and an almost new form roller and it has been calibrated. If any of these parts(excluding the seals) are bad in a unit you have then this Kompac is a good buy even if you use it for parts. The parts that have to be removed from the second color head make installing this unit a somewhat involved process but it is not terribly difficult. If I do not have the instructions for doing this I will try to get them before I ship it. If you already have a Kompac on the first color head ... moreof your Multi then you really should have one on the second color head as well. Then you pretty much do not have to worry about ink and water balance while you are printing. I am selling it as is with no return but it should work very well. I am offering free freight to the continental USA.
