Vintage Ideal #2 Stencil Cutting Machine, Hand Operated, 5/8" Letters
This is a vintage Ideal#2 stencil cutting machine that cuts 5/8" letters and numbers. It is still operative- even though a portion of the circular handle on the top is broken off and missing. You turn the round handle to the letter or number you wish. Then press down the lever at the front. This cuts the letter or number into the cardboard. There is another lever to reset the machine. Due to the weight(almost 70 pounds) It can either be picked up or I can meet you within a 50 mile radius of Dover, Ohio or it can be shipped via UPS ground for $45.00. This is identical to the machines that have sold on here for hundreds of dollars- except that a portion of the round handle is missing.but it still operates. Illinois, and this is the Ideal No. 1 cutter with 1" letters model GG-S-747. The industrial stencil machine has a rotary top to change the letters, and it has a mechanical lever punch that is hand operated. The serial number on this item is 41891, and it has bolts to secure it to a table or stand. The machine measures about 22" long and weighs about 70 pounds. This item has some usage wear and paint chips. The wheel spins freely to pick the letter. And the ... morelever punch works but could use some oil. The stencil paper holder moves when the latch is released, and it stops when the lever is pushed. MARSH 1" STENCIL PUNCH For your consideration is this heavy duty industrial duty stencil punch. It works perfectly and is extremely easy to use! It's in great original condition as you can see in the pics, especially underneath where it really counts, make sure that whatever stencil punch you're considering purchasing you get a look at the bottom side because these sometimes end up stored in an unheated damp location. Or on a concrete floor where the moisture can turn any bare metal parts into a rusty mess and they'll never work the same again. cleaning" doesn't cut it at that point because the dies and punches will have dulled edges. This one cuts clean on each and every character and as the pics show, it's clean. The machine is an earlier model that's built from cast iron and it's heavy, just under ... more150 lbs, making it too heavy for UPS Ground once it's packaged properly. There is a possibility that the heavy rotating ring on top could be removed and shipped separately to keep it under UPS's 150 lb max, otherwise it would have to all go by freight. Either way I'll work with you to keep the shipping cost under control. And last, the only flaws that I see is, first, the instruction plate next to the red operating handle is not able to be read, and second, the rubber feet are distressed, everything else is absolutely great! This is a HEAVY duty stencil cutter that is quite old. But still in really nice condition. Some light surface wear as pictured and some very minor rust on back legs. All numbers, letters, and punctuation cut great. Dial rotates nice and smooth, although it has not been used in decades so it should be oiled up before use again. I only went through each mark on the dial once only to test it. This is a HEAVY solid steel machine that weighs just under 100 pounds, industrial grade. I tested it on paper as you can see in the last photo. Leaves a rusty greasy look when it prints. I don't have the material to test it on anything else. This definitely shows use.
