Germany(early'30s) Covers the events leading to and during the 1914 battle of Lüttich(= Liege) in Belgium. Signed twice by German Generalmajor Hartwig von Platen. As my photo# 3 clearly proves. He was indeed a Hauptmann in the Generalstab of the IX[9th] Armeekorps from 1913-15. And retired as a Generalmajor. And the signature really suggests the name Platen. He even appears to try to work in the"H" or"h" initial of his first name. Perhaps also the"v" in"von" because of the initial line looking like a half"v"maybe I'm interpreting too much here with the"v" or"von" part. Anyway, look at it closely! There are 179 pages. A fold-out map and 17 photos. Most ... moreimportantly, there is an attached letter(actually glued to one of the book's pages[at the bottom margin] and also signed by Platen-see my photos) So, he's adding his own details to this book in form of his pasted-in typed commentary! Also many underlined and marked passages and handwritten notes(in pencil) in the margins, presumably also by Platen who was quite the military scholar, too. These scholarly notes are quite obviously of high analytical quality and enrich this book's value; even if it is only in fair condition with taped repairs to the cover and fragments of the dust jacket taped to the book. This is an interesting type of 2 Phase stepper motor which is much less common than the typical type. It consists of a forcer and platen. The forcer is equivalent to the coils and poles of a traditional stepper motor and when energized they align with the respective poles of the platen. As such this motor can be driven with a typical stepper motor drive in full. Half, or microstep modes. Simple 4 wire type with orange and green being one pole, red and white the other. This type of motor has both advantages and disadvantages. The linear nature of the motor eliminates the need to add ball screws and gears to achieve linear motion, together with their associated backlash. You are bidding on a used yudu machine. I purchased this new and have used it less than 20 times. I ran out of emulsion remover and am unable to clean the screens as you can see in the pic. There is no emulsion remover included in this auction. If you like the designs already on the screen you can use them before you clean them: I could not get the design off completely on one of the screens but it could be because I dont know what I'm doing. You can see what I am talking about on the red screen. It did not interfere with transferring the new design though. Everything else is ready to go. The machine works perfect. There has been some use of the paint as you can see in the picture and one black has never been used. Also. The baby platen is brand new and has not been opened, but there is a chip in the top part of it. I don't know how ... moreit happened, it may have been due to storage. 25" Ramco wide belt sander - 15 HP with new contact drum and removable platen
25" Ramco Sander(serial number 935) 15 HP. 3 Phase, with a separate motor for the conveyor belt. It has a platen which can be inserted to produce a ripple free surface during fine/finish sanding. T he belt tracking mechanism uses compressed air. I have used this machine in my shop for the last ten years or so and it is a reliable workhorse. I've replaced the contact wheel(a $700+ item) and roller bearings so it cuts like new: there are no dead spots/grooves in the contact wheel. Parts for this machine are still available from Ramco. Also included are 6 new 25"x 60" sanding belts of various grit sizes. This machine weighs about 3500 lbs and shipping from Moab. Utah is not included in the price.

Hi. Selling a little table top letterpress printing press. No markings, its either a sigwalt or Chicago#9. Chase inside dimensions are 3-13/16 x 2-1/2. Is made to use with 2 rollers, but this does not have rollers with it. About a year ago I stripped it down, sandblasted it, and painted it black. Looks nice! I replaced the lever nut/ bolt with new stainless hardware. I made the chase out of 1/4" stainless. not original, but works great. I also drilled and tapped for(2) 1/4-20 bolts in the bottom of the chase which eliminates the need for quoins when using a block. platen is nice and even. Adjustment screws work properly. Needs gripper spring. ink disk works and spins as it should. Nice little press. I use it regularly, I just want something bigger. Use as is and ink with a brayer as I do, or buy rollers/trucks. This 25"wide Ramco Belt Sander(serial number 935) has a 15 HP. 3 Phase main motor and a separate 1/2 HP motor to drive the feed belt. Included is a removable platen which can be inserted during the final passes to produce a smoother surface. Belt tracking and tensioning is accomplished with air pressure. I have used this machine in my one man shop for the last decade; it has been very reliable and a real workhorse. I've replaced the contact wheel(a $700+ item) and all roller bearings; eliminating dead spots. Grooves, and much tedious and time consuming hand sanding.
