It is a sensitive AM/FM stereo receiver with up to 195 watts of power into 4 ohms, with 2 tape monitor circuits, linear FM dial scale, 2 turntables, 3 pairs of speakers, and a microphone.giving it extreme versatility found in high end equipment. The direct-coupled power amplifier circuitry provides wide power bandwidth and superb frequency response. This unit also has one switched and 2 un-switched outlets on the back and is capable of handling 4 ohm to 16 ohm loads. Made in Japan. It doesn't come near to breaking a sweat at this job with it's 100 watts per channel into 8 ohm rating. The pictures show the LED'S lit up for the signal strength, as well as the locked in station. Carver in general has a product that differentiates it from other manufactures and they call it ASYMMETRICAL CHARGE-COUPLED FM STEREO DETECTOR. It definitely takes a while for one to get used to Carver receivers in general and you could easily press a button or two and lose all sound! Hence, it's a darned good idea to press buttons slowly and one at a time while learning it's in's and out's. Still could use some cleaning, depending on how clean you want it to be! There are various marks on the wood case, and a knick on one of the edges. Luxman RX-103 AM/ FM Stereo Receiver. This unit is affectionately known as the" suck face or servo face" receiver. When you turn it on the panel with the controls retracts. Unfortunately. Due to age the belt that controls this has to be replaced within the mechanism so that feature is not working. I also unplugged the small connection under the cover to disable the small motor which retracts the door. No sense in it running continuously if the belt is not intact. It can easily be plugged back in after belt replacement if so desired. But.everything else works as it should. Both left and right channels have equal clean output, all inputs feed their dedicated functions. All lamps, indicators, meters, switches and controls operate as designed with the exception of the motorized face plate. This is repairable by replacing the belt if ... moreso desired. They are available on ebay for $12.00- $13.00. Personally I would let it be.This receiver works great and that is just a cosmetic toy which has no effect on sound quality or operation. This unit sounds magnificent. Luxman made one of the finest sounding receivers of all time. As far as cosmetics there are some scratches on the case and a couple of scratches on the top edge or bezel of the face plate. There are some small nicks on the sharp edge of the face plate bezel.
