All dials and switches turn and flip as they should. None of them feel dead or weak. Manuals are included. They look like photocopies so I can not be sure if they are complete. These came from an estate that had an amazing amount of electronics. Gauges, test equipment, etc. The gentleman who owned it was a university professor and a lot of what he had has hand made. AGILENT 70910A DESCRIPTION The Agilent/ HP 70910A Spectrum Analyzer RF section provides coverage from 100 Hz to 26.5 GHz. This RF section is used in the 71209A Opt 001 spectrum analyzer and the 71910A wide bandwidth receiver. Diode-pair mixing provides lower conversion loss. Allowing the spectrum analyzer to have sensitivities that compete with fundamentally mixed designs. The sensitivity is also improved by the use of a built-in preamplifier before the first mixer(in the microwave path) The 70910A adds the switchable bypass path around the yig-tuned filter(YTF) for making very sensitive measurements when extraneous signals are not a problem. The Agilent 70910A RF section ensures that the minimum bandwidth through the YTF is greater than 36 MHz and the minimum bandwidth through the low-band path is greater than 45 MHz. This works with the 7000 series mainframe. This is in very good overall condition. I have tested this and it seems to be working. The"dot mkr" knob is damaged and one of the plastic tabs on the back is broken. This can be returned in 14 days if not happy. This auction is for the 7L5 and option 21 plug-in only. HP Spectrum Analyzer RF SECTION 8555A for 141T mainframe analyzer. This one is a spare I have had on the shelf for 20 years for my 141T. And only have used it a few times. It was with the phone company before that, so probably well maintained. Please note: Auction is for the RF section and its manual only. Whole analyzer is shown to illustrate operation. 01 to 18 GHz RF head for HP 141T spectrum Analyzer. works to 42 GHz with external mixer) Condition: Tested. But not fully calibrated. I did the performance test on Page 4-1 of the operating and service manual(included in auction) One of the pictures shows the signal. The level is about 5dB low, and I did not bother to adjust the RF level control, because you will need to calibrate to your IF section. But it appears that frequency and amplitude are within adjustment limits. Another picture ... moreshows reception of a local digital TV station. The signal is about 50 dB above the noise floor. I have also observed the FM band. But didn't record it. SW signals are also evident with a short wire antenna. The attenuator has a problem. It seems to be fine in the 0 and 10 dB attenuation positions. But the 20 and 30 dB positions show excess attenuation. 40 and 50dB seem OK. Either the switch had dirty contacts or perhaps the attenuator elements are damaged. In my experience, this is only a minor inconvenience. At 500 Mhz, the bad attenuator settings are better, perhaps indicating capacity coupling across a bad contact. The main type N input jack has one of four of the little contacts broken. It seems to make contact fine using the other three. But you may want to be a bit careful not to damage it further. I keep an adaptor, BNC or other type connected permanently. I have not checked all the bands since I have no signal sources at microwave frequencies. The band switch seems to work properly. I have not checked every BW and Swept range. But switching through them didn't notice any problem. The 1/2 inch thick operating and service manual contains full details if you need to
