Union Special Model 80600F Sewing Machine Bag Closing Industrial Heavy Duty
Union Special Model 80600F industrial sewing machine. Originally made for closing cloth or jute bags etc. I believe the 80000 series machines have also been used for carpet serging and other applications, but do not know if this machine can be adapted to such purposes. The 80000 series is still offered by Union Special. This machine appears to have had moderate use from the overall wear and condition. I would say the mechanical condition is very good; little if any play in the'conrod' bearing. Quite clean inside except where dust has entered through open areas, probably mostly during long storage. With the needle'shaft' at full extension I can feel almost no play in it it when trying to wiggle it from side to side. There is some light rust on some exposed steel surfaces. Which would be easily removed with a fine rotary wire ... morewheel; easy for me at least! We could discuss doing that here if the buyer wishes) There appears to be one end cover missing. But parts are available from Union Special or other suppliers. The manual for this machine is available for download on the internet. Personally I would use carb cleaner and compressed air to blow out the dust that has stuck to the oily surfaces and then lubricate. With the steel surfaces cleaned. The machine is probably ready to use as is. Please remember that I am not an expert on this type of thing, but I do have enough mechanical sense and observational skill to tell as much as I have here. This will need to be packed in a wooden crate. And bolted to the bottom of the crate using the existing mounting bolt holes, with internal bracing if required. This is a Lewis Union Special model 150-1 industrial sewing machine. This machine& some others were pulled from a home during a clean out. He was in sewing all his life. First had a factory. Then downsized and took a few machines home where he made uniforms. This machine has probably been sitting un-used for 10 years. It was a good climate controlled environment so no deterioration has occurred. It seems well cared for& I can see no damage. The machine is not bolted to the table now. The clutch motor runs& clutches, household 120V power. Cash on pickup. If upon inspection at time of pickup you find this machine to not be to your liking you are under no obligation to take it. Union Special 43200 G Chain Stitch Hemming Industrial Sewing Machine
Up for auction is a classic Union Special 43200G Chain Stitch Sewing Machine. I purchased this in hopes of getting it up and running and ended up finding a slightly better model and so this particular machine has been sitting on a shelf pretty much since I received it. When I purchased it I was under the assumption that it was in greater shape than it is and was disappointed to find out that it was in need of far more work than I was willing and able to provide. I would describe this particular machine as being in fair condition. But it will surely need some TLC to get it up and stitching. I would say it is a good candidate for a complete rebuild by a more talented mechanic than myself. And I would recommend it going to someone who has several of these machines to use as donors. Not to someone such as myself who may be feeling"mechanically ... morehandy" enough to take a chance on a cheap 43200G. This is not simply a cheap 43200G. It is a 43200G in need of repair. Although it is black this is not a"Black Head" machine. It appears to be a 2nd generation that someone painted to resemble the oldest generation of these machines. I am selling this"as is" parts only" because I do not want anyone to be under the assumption that it is more that what it is. It is not"sewn off" as I have not been successful in adjusting it to produce a suitable chain stitch. There is some minor surface rust on several parts. However I have cleaned and oiled most of the machine and there is nothing that appears that it will pose a problem. In fact the machine turns over fine and does not bind. Steel wool and scotch brite pads work wonders! There are some minor missing parts and these include some oiler cups and screws. Also it appears that the looper is part number"43208D" and so this is not the correct looper for the 43200G machine. The looper should actually be a 43208"G" part number. My recommendation(and what I had planned on) would be to couple this machine with another decent 43

This Union Special sewing machine belong to my parents. When they had a clothing factory. I have not turned it on in years. So I don't know if it works. It has the table and the metal base and pedal. It has a Craftsman motor. My parents bought this machine in the early late 1980's or early 1990's. I am certain it was before 1992, because that is when they closed the factory. I dismantled it and the individual machine and metal base can now be used an industrial home decor. The base would look great as a console with a marble top. They made a variety of machines and many are still in use today. The company closed production in 1989. From what i've read, and the ones left were grabbed up quickly.
