Case 888 Excavator with thumb
You are bidding on a Case 888 excavator. I bought this machine 9 years ago to stump and clean the farm that I bought. Since then it sits around more than its used. It has a Cummings engine that will crank on the coldest day with no starting fluid. And it does not smoke. It shows 6278hrs, but I don't think the meter works. The fuel gauge and the charging system does work. The machine will move forward and it will move backwards when you push the pedals. However, it will NOT turn left or right on its own when you push the pedals. It was like this when I got it. To make it turn you have to put the boom down on the ground push the pedals and turn it while swinging the turn table. Also, all the pins have play in them and there are several leaks on the ole machine. The under carriage is fair. I've used it 9 years like this. However. The machine is powered by a 4-cylinder turbo Cat Mitsubishi diesel engine. The engine starts well and runs out strong with minimal blowby. We just serviced the engine. All hyd. operations seem to work strong with no visable leaks present. We intalled 2 new front idlers on the machine and a set of good used chains. We repaired the undercarraige, serviced the machine, steam-washed it, and then painted the lower half of the machine. We have the machine on a job right now but it is available for sale at any time. Original owners of this 85 komatsu. It's a PC 200-2. The motor on the machine has less then 3000 hours on it. It was replaced by Binder machinery. Was new not rebuilt. Has a manual thumb. Under carriage is 90% we use this machine for demo daily. What machine needs. Two pieces of class. Kids broke with rocks. Top stick cylinder leaks. Be to be re packed. Hydraulic place quoted me at $1.250. Also the turntable spool valve needs to be cleaned. It spins slower then it should. For demo didn't matter to us. The exhaust pipe needs to be welded or replaced.
